Introduced in 1990
In 1990, Kellogg's was test marketing a cereal called Whole Grain Shredded Wheat. They claimed it was "the most nutritious shredded wheat you can buy." Competing shredded wheat producer Nabisco reacted to their hype by threatening to sue them if they didn't stop making "false claims of nutritional superiority."
During this time, Nabisco was test marketing a similar nutritionally superior called Spoon-Size Plus Shredded Wheat.
