Introduced in 2004


Actual name: Cinnamon Flavor Toasters (with the word "flavor" shown in very small, barely-noticeable letters). (March 2009 Update: The word "flavor" no longer appears in the name in the latest version of the cereal box.)

From the front of the box: "Sweetened whole wheat and rice cereal with cinnamon. Betcha can't taste the difference - Compare to Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal. Made with whole grain."

From the side panel: "We start with whole wheat and rice, the sweeten it with sugar and cinnamon for a taste you'll crave. Our Crisp Crunch Technology bakes it all to crisp perfection. ...Taste like Cinnamon Toast Crunch? We set out to create a lower cost, great tasting cereal that competes with more expensive brands. In a nationwide taste test, consumers agreed that Cinnamon Toasters taste like Cinnamon Toast Crunch."

Nutritional Profile: Each 3/4 cup serving contains 130 calories, 0.5 gram saturated fat, o grams trans fat, 24 grams carbohydrates, 1 gram dietary fiber, 10 grams sugar and 1 gram protein. The first ingredient listed is whole grain wheat. The second is sugar.

The mascots for this cereal are the team of Cool Blue and Li'l Oaty who also act as the mascots for several other Malt-O-Meal cereals.

I just ate some of this cereal dry, like chips, and it is so tasty! Taking it on a trip when I have no fresh milk! Yum-yum!
