Raisin Bran (Cascadian Farms)
From: Cascadian Farm
Introduced in 2003

The following text is from an October 21, 2003 press release announcing the introduction of Cascadian Farms' Raisin Bran Cereal:

"Cascadian Farm has taken great taste to heart with the introduction of its newest varieties of delicious organic cereals: Raisin Bran, Hearty Morning and Purely O's.

"In June 2002, Cascadian Farm introduced its line of organic cereals including Honey Nut O's, Wheat Crunch Flakes, Oats & Honey Granola, and Multi Grain Squares. The addition of Raisin Bran, Hearty Morning and Purely O's brings the company's total of delicious organic cereals to seven.

"Each of Cascadian Farm's three new cereals provides a good to excellent source of fiber, and heart-healthy diets rich in grain products with soluble fiber may lower cholesterol. According to the Food and Drug Administration, diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol and rich in fruits, vegetables and grain products that contain some types of dietary fiber, particularly soluble fiber, may reduce the risk of heart disease, a disease associated with many factors.

"Cascadian Farm Raisin Bran is an organic twist on the classic cereal everyone loves. Made with organic wheat bran flakes and plump organic raisins, this breakfast favorite is an excellent source of dietary fiber (6 grams), is low in fat (1 gram), naturally cholesterol free, and contains nine essential vitamins and minerals. Without milk, one cup of Cascadian Farm Raisin Bran contains only 180 calories and 5 grams of protein."

Company Description: The company began in 1972 as an organic farm in the Upper Skagit Valley of Washington's North Cascade Mountains. The first products it sold were jams, frozen fruits and vegetables... Read on and see all cereals from Cascadian Farm
