Uncle Sam With Real Mixed Berries
The mixed berries in Uncle Sam Cereal With Real Mixed Berries were strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.
The cereal was described on the box as "toasted whole-wheat flakes & flax seed with real mixed berries." Additional text announced that the cereal had "10g fiber... omega-3 fatty acids from flax seed... 2g sugar... (and was) 100% whole grain." The flakes in the cereal were very small, maybe one-quarter the size of a Kellogg's corn flake.
The first five ingredients listed on the side panel were whole wheat kernels, whole flaxseed, freeze-dried blueberries, freeze-dried raspberries and freeze-dried strawberries.
Company Description: Uncle Sam Cereal originated as The Uncle Sam Breakfast Food Company around 1910. The first Uncle Sam product was Uncle Sam Breakfast Food, a wheat flake cereal sprinkled with flaxseed, celery powder and salt. It was created by LaFayette Coltrin who conceived the cereal as a cure for constipation.
In the 1920's, The Uncle Sam Breakfast Food Company created the first cereal targeted to kids, Vanilla Sweeties... Read on and see all cereals from Uncle Sam Cereal
