Banana Nut Rainforest Crisp
This cereal is an extension of Rainforest Crisp, a cereal introduced by Rainforest Products in 1991. Rainforest Products was a company conceived by former Grateful Dead manager Sat Santokh Singh Khalsa and partially funded by the band's guitarist/singer Bob Weir.
Golden Temple, Peace Cereals' parent company, absorbed the Rainforest Product line when Rainforest Products faded away.
In early 2009, Peace Cereal Products' website described the cereal like this:
"Go bananas for the rainforest with the tropical crunch of real banana bits, natural oat clusters, crispy corn flakes and plenty of scrumptious cashews. We've added Brazil nuts for a taste explosion that will have you swinging from the trees! Cashews and Brazil nuts are also high in unsaturated fats, the 'good fat' that helps lower total cholesterol. Enjoy the fruits of our wonderful planet in every purely natural spoonful!"
