From around 1948. A lot of people think this might be the first time a cereal prize was actually put in a cereal box. Before then, the checkout person at the grocery store would give you the prize. For instance, if you bought Corn Flakes the grocer might give you a free comic book or something. Take a look on eBay and you can usually see the the actual metal stick pins that were the prize in this box.
