Promoting the Lone Ranger "prequel" film that was out at the time was this Cheerios box, featuring a mail-away offer for a Lone Ranger Deputy Kit.

Cheerios have a history with the Lone Ranger that goes pretty far back, and I'd like to think it is that history that promoted this partnership.
