New Product Review:
These snack size sandwiches "made with real blueberries" are truly snack size - about 2" X 1". They’re easy to prepare. You wrap two of them in a paper towel and microwave for 50 seconds.
The blueberry flavor is terrific. So is the sausage. Unfortunately, the blueberry flavor dominates over the sausage flavor. I would have preferred more of a 50/50 flavor ratio, but it's more like 60% blueberry to 40% sausage. The biscuit is flaky and tender. It gets a little moist on the bottom after microwaving, but no so much that it's annoying. Each little sandwich takes only 3 or 4 bites to finish.
Overall, these are tasty little treats. The mix of sweet and savory is refreshing. The bummer about this product is that it's a huge saturated fat offender. A serving of 2 biscuits gives you 55% of your daily recommendation for saturated fat. It took 3 biscuits to fill me up... that’s 82% of my daily allowance of saturated fat.
I recommend you give them a try, but make sure you eat really healthy the rest of the day.
Nutritional Considerations: Each serving of 2 snack size biscuit sandwiches has 360 calories, 27 grams total fat (11 grams saturated and 0 grams trans), 35 mg cholesterol, 530 mg sodium, 23 grams total carbs, 1 gram dietary fiber, 4 grams sugar and 5 grams protein.
