NEWSFLASH: Dandi’s Family Restaurant in San Gabriel closed suddenly in early April, 2013. Tippy, the sweet lady from Thailand who always waited on her customers, was also the co-owner and manager of the restaurant. Unfortunately for her, she experienced an unforeseen financial setback that forced her to close the restaurant. Hopefully, she will be able to rebound from this and re-open her restaurant at a new location. Until then, her restaurant’s mouth-watering breakfast entrées will be sorely missed by her regular patrons!

PARKING: FREE in their small parking lot. FREE street parking, too, but be sure to read the parking signs first!


The quality of BREAKFAST food at Dandi’s is just phenomenal. Their cinnamon-swirl French Toast is served stuffed with sliced bananas, strawberries, and blackberries. Sausage links are deliciously seasoned with a little “kick”; Bacon is thin and very crispy; the Traditional Hash Browns are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and especially tasty, too (Is it possible that they fried them in real butter?); and the (white bread) Toast was sliced thick and generously buttered. Dandi’s also offers a sprinkling of Mexican breakfast entrees and they are just as delicious: Eggs & Chorizo; Huevos Rancheros; Pozole (available weekends only); and Red Menudo--which is EXCELLENT!--is also available on weekends only and is served with an abundance of condiments and your choice of 4 hot corn tortillas or 2 hot flour tortillas. Portions are generous, too.

Service here is friendly and attentive and the refills of coffee are never-ending!
