very crowded on weekends at night. the first time i saw a village people imitator was there. unusual crowd. cooks beat the hamburgers until they have no flavor, and only cook the hash-browns minimally. not the place to go for good food, but for entertainment.

The perfect antidote to that craving for diner-style breakfast food. Of course, as everyone else seems to have mentioned, the pie is the thing. But the breakfast menu is large, and full of many options (the choices available for "toast" alone can boggle the mind). My very favorite place for breakfast in Houston.

On January 22 I attempted to have dinner at the House of Pies on Kirby. I am deaf and was accompanied by my Service Dog. Unfortunately the management was unaware of the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act and the right of a person with a disability to have their Service Animal accompany them in any place that is open to the public. That manager created a scene by calling the police who ejected me. I don't believe that any person with a disability needs to be treated with such disrespect.... and hope that no one ever has an experience like mine.

well, i have always enjoyed house of pies since i was a kid and especially when my mother was pregnant, but now that they charge people to sit there... 2.50 an hour. that is just ridiculous. and its upsetting because it dosen't really apply to adults. the reason they enforced this fee is obviously to prevent people, teenagers in particular, to coming there and just sitting there taking up the tables... but, i went there not too long ago for a surprize party for a friend and everyone was waiting, so they charged us 2.50 per person for the thirty minutes we were waiting for her. and then, one of our friends ate something and then they finished and we were all just hanging out for a little bit while we were waiting for the food and they kicked them out because they had already finished their food. and it was stupid because we brought a lot of business that day. we were like 20 people or more. about 6 tables. yea. but anyways the food is alright. the pie and cake is the best but this new rule isn't flying...

I thought The House of Pies had excellent food and and the pies were good, just the kids across the road constanly throwing rabbit pies at the window, can be entertaining but annoying also.

A friend introduced me to the place and I have taken nearly every one I know here. The food is great but the PIE....oh, I could go off on how good the pie is! I have since moved across the country and now my only complaint is they won't ship!
