Going back again for the Sunday brunch, I can't believe I haven't been coming here every Sunday. We live right down the street but due to not so great dinner experiences (which seem to have now improved), the breakfast brunch is outstanding and the price is reasonable. All kinds of choices of meats and vegetarian foods, fresh baked pastries. delicious and well worth the trip! our only disappointment was "no roast beef" one time we went, lamb was substituted instead, not a big hit for us for a morning brunch. Other than that, you shouldn't miss it - a great spread of great food for a great price.

We've had some good and bad experiences here. On a busy night our steaks were served almost raw. The prices are quite high I feel for a blue collar town. We're plain meat and potatoes folks, and vegetables with ingredients we've never heard of, asparagus (ugh), butter with honey in it, are a little too lah-dee-dah for us. If I owned this restaurant I'd have a family style restaurant with reasonable prices and food with names we could pronounce, and with prices to entice the campers at the campground across the street to bring the whole fam damily. No mistaking, the food is good quality when cooked correctly, and we'll return there. The ambiance is nice, the waitresses friendly. I'd expect a restaurant like this though in Boston.

I have been eating at The Potting Shed for years it is still the best overall food in southern Maine, try out the Sunday brunch buffet absolutely to die for. The value is incredible try it sometime, dinners are just as great certainly the best food and great dining experience.

I made the original posting here on this site. It was soon after the new owners took over, and I must agree with the bad reviews. The service has gone downhill since the new owners took over. Last summer I saw my review posted in the main entrance of the Potting Shed, but after the bad reviews started appearing here, the review was removed.

I hope the owners are reading this and realize that you've lost many long-time customers.

But it is your restaurant; if you want to run it out of business...you're doing a good job.

I do not recommend The Potting Shed to anybody anymore.

The Potting Shed in the best around Maine. I ate there with my friend and we had the best waitress. She was nice and the food there was two thumbs up! The potting shed has the best atmosphere and food. awesome job....

My family has been eating here since it opened.

I recommend the Stuffed French Toast -- two slices of French toastfilled with cream cheese and topped with Strawberry.

Another family favorite is the Bread-Basket -- a bread bowl filled with egg, broccoli and cheese.

Get there early or you'll have to wait in line. Summer lines can get quite long.

This is a favorite restaurant for locals and "summer people".
