The Gourmet Penguin is gone. The restaurant had a storied past. The original owner had sold to a local couple who tried their best, but the "penguin" was not the same. They sold to a local guy who reinvented the Penguin. The Penguin was not only as good as before, but better, cleaner, and more up yo date with a remodel. The service was friendly and attentive. You never wanted for anything. The menu was fresh, and trendy if not eclectic. There breakfast/specials made you feel like you were eating at a Carribbean resort. Breakfast and lunch were the best for miles. Then dinner happened with a trendy eclectic bistro menu. The Penguin was packed and looked like it would live for ever. Forever was not long enough. We miss you!!

The penquin has closed and re-opened under new management and closed again since the reviews shown. It may not be open as of 3/30/05. But, looks like new management is coming in soon.

Although very small, the Penguin is a local hangout. Their omelets are the best. The ingredients are always fresh. The seasonings they use are unique and are used in a tasteful manner. My favorite item to order there is the Hash...made with roasted peppers..it is yummy! The atmosphere is funky and fun with lots of penguins all around(it's fun to see how many you can find). Fresh and fun and yummy is a good way to describe this place!
