Disregard any and all negative reviews for this place... these people are clearly competitors, numbskulls, or most likely - both.

If you are looking to sit down to a dirty table, sticky menus, scummy silverware, and mediocre service - this is not your place.

For starters - it's a cafeteria style line you place your order in and pick up your drinks. They bring the ~HOT~ food to your table when it is ready. If you're not into that - then don't bother - that makes for a shorter line for me!

Coffee refills are continuous - everyone can find something they'll love on the menu, and everyone leaves with a smile on their face.

For the traveling family - what else could you want?

save your money and go to McDonalds cause thats the quality food your getting at double the price. im no saying i eat at MCdonalds but thats what it tasted like the day i ate here. find some place better. not to mention the place is dull and dirty

The chocolate waffles are to die for, the western omlette has alot of sauted veggies and diced country ham - delicious...the wait staff is efficient and Mr Steve keeps everyone in the dining room laughing with his jokes and "greek" sense of humor. I would come back to the MP 4 location everytime I visit the OBX...and recomend it to everyone. Don't forget to pick up a bag of pancake mix and coffee beans to try to duplicate the meal in your own kitchen.

it won my hart.when I first got there it wasn't something special..but people were so nice and friendly and the food was good (wafle with chocolate chips! crab cake with egg in english muffin and chicken fahita omelette :-) so every year, every occasion I have I visit my favorite breakfast restaurant in obx.

The food was BAD and sat like a rock in the pit of my stomach for hours! I ordered the country ham & cheese omelette. The ham was dry, very salty, and crumbly - it was like eating imitation bacon bits. No cheese to speak of either. And that was $7.20, which is on the pricey side for an average omelette, not to mention a bad one. My companion had a short stack of pancakes, which were fine but pretty generic, eggs over easy, which were not good, and sausage links, which were very bad and greasy. The hash browns tasted like old oil. Instead of that nice golden brown that hash browns should have, they were more of a motor oil brown. The toast was ok - hard to mess that up, I guess. Fresh strawberries were ok after dumping sugar on them, but expensive at $2.50 for a half-cup or so. Coffee was not great. I had to add cream to make it tolerable. I decided not to stick around for refills because when I went into the bathroom I saw two dead roaches - a big one (an American cockroach, if I have the ID right), and then a little one. That was kind of disquieting, and that was about the same effect the food had on my stomach the rest of the morning. And yet when we were getting ready to leave, there was a line out the door!

I suppose if one sticks to pancakes and eggs and fruit, you will have an OK breakfast, but it is overpriced for a place with cafeteria-style service, poor to moderate food, and roaches in the bathroom.

we go there for breakfast every time we're at the Outer Banks! Wouldn't miss it for the world, it's a part of the experience. Everyone ther is so friendly, just what you need in the morning.

Stack 'Em High was just what we needed: HOT COFFEE and a great breakfast. Breakfast was on the table and a coffee refill was on the way before my wife brought our daughter back from the ladies room. In our hustle to get home we shamefully forgot to leave a tip (ordering & paying is cafeteria style, but a friendly wait & bus staff work the dining room). When you go, please, please, please mention this review in hopes that getting the word out will generate the tip we neglected to pay. Thanks!

a great stop on the way from/to the outerbanks. at stack 'em high you order your pancakes by the inch (or foot). dont forgot to check out the great gift shop with dr suess themed t shirts
