Whenever we go to Huntington Beach, we go to The SugarShack, we were there two weeks ago for three days, and had breakfast there all three days. The food is great, the coffee was great, the service was as great, the people were great! ( I loved the pancakes)..... and the atmosphere is great...what's not to like!!!!? ... I even bought a t-shirt there....
Wish they had Sugar Shack logo mugs!...
I grew up in SoCa, and have so many great memories down there from the 60s, and the Sugar Shack is definitely my surf city landmark!!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍❤️😘🏄☕️

I have eaten at the Sugar Shack since I was seventeen and now take my seventeen year old there. The food is amazing, good hot coffee and a big menu. The Kepplers is a favorite as well as the french toast. There is no better place to eat breakfast in HB. Since we moved it is a must to come back to each and every trip.

i have been working the the sugar shack for 4 yrs now currently working on my 5th.! i love our grub.! somehow i never get sick of it.. even after eating it 2+ times a week at least.! one of my favorite breakfast meals is the KEPPLERS SPECIAL no avo for me.. u can never go wrong with it; always hits the spot.! (it is a high calorie counter though.. but it is well worth it!)my favorite lunch meal is the TUNA MELT jack cheese, add tomato & pickles. my favorite beverage is the SURF.. i can drink it for days.
i love & highly appreciate all our customers that come in and are able to handle our busy busy staff.. we are all constantly running around working as a team to give u all the best service possible. although sometimes we may be a little testy after a long day.. it seems that our loyal, patient customers are always able to put up with us. so thank you for all the people that give our staff respect and kindness that may sometimes just make our whole day.!
**TIP** all day i hear names get called off the list with no response.! if we tell u the wait is up to 30 min DONT go and take a walk up the pier.. trust me, your name will be skipped so quickly because everyone else is doing the same thing. just wait it out, you will be glad u did.
<3 see u there.!

This is our first trip to California and we went down to the beach for breakfast and stumbled on to the Sugar Shack...OMG Everything I have eaten is awesome but the French Toast is to die for. These people know what their doing they get the people in and out. If you want to eat outside you better be listening for your name or you will miss your seat.

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. Since I moved here from East Texas (where we really know our down-home cooking) 3 years ago, I haven't found a place to eat that truly makes me feel at home like Sugar Shack does. The food is so good and filling without costing a ton like most places in Cali. The view of the beach doesn't hurt either. The staff is so nice, and I can't say enough great things about this place. It's a must try!!

We live in Indiana, but while on vacation in CA, we had the greatest experience dining at the Sugar Shack ! We drove down from Newport Beach all six mornings to have breakfast there! We don't know which was greater,,,the food and service or Michelle, Tim and their Family!!! They are truly some of the nicest people you will ever meet anywhere ! When leaving the last day, it was as though we were leaving Family !
Timmy turned us onto the best Omelette that I've ever had ! The Turner Family's Sugar Shack is "The Best Ever !"

I'm so happy that there are so many good things to say about this great classic find in hb! I'm from Chicago but moved to Long Beach for a few years and would come down to "The Shack" every Sunday and in the summer on lazy weekday mornings with my roommate to "listen" to our conference calls! Now we live a few blocks away from the shack and go there all the time! My only complaint is that it closes so early... because if there was just one of the dozens of great restaurants on main street that I would want to be open 24 hours it would HAVE to be SUGAR SHACK!!

The Shack has long been an icon on Main Street where the local contractors, gym rats, surfers and fisherman met early in the morning. It was great when it was the only place in town until the Bread Crumb opened next door in the early 90's. The owner Larry lured many of the Shack's loyal customers with his staff of beautiful blonde servers and equally great food while the Shack's staffers continue to sport that "just woke up" look. Subsequently due to a greedy landlord Larry moved the Crumb (his kids now run it). He's a great guy and I hope he is enjoying his retirement.
Today there are numerous alternatives to the long wait for the Shack and it appears to have lost some of its appeal with the new generation of locals (gainfully employed homeowners who enjoy a life beyond surfing).
My best memory of the Shack is the Wednesday lunch special, turkey and all the trimmings of a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner, hope Michelle still has it. After a hard workout at the Powerhouse Gym across the street the bodybuilders would descend upon the Shack on Wednesdays for this treat. We used to refer to this as having a 'Shack Attack'.
Over all the Shack remains to be an icon and I hope it stays there for a long time to come. Forgot to mention that Michelle's children who are now grown were always the hardest working kids I'd seen when they were helping mom. The Sugar Shack has the potential to be once again be the premier Main Street hot spot. Holly, Ryan, Timmy, it's up to you. Best of luck!

i love the sugar shack and have had a firsthand experience seeing how much effort that gets put into the amazing food they serve everyday. It has great atmosphere and the people are very friendly. there is always somebody to talk to and you get to people watch as you eat. when you are done eating you can take a look at the shops down mainstreet, get some ice cream at cold stone, paint some pottery at color me mine, or go to the beach . the Sugar shack is very family friendly, they dont care if you come in all sandy in your bathingsuit. The food is very homestyle and filling. Its very good and cheap. The junior breakfast includes two eggs, bacon or sausage, hashbrowns, toast, and coffee. its only four dollars. the owner michelle is very nice too, ask to see her, get to know everyone and you could be a regular too. if you dont know where it is, go to downtown huntington beach california . go down mainstreet and look for the restaraunt with the green umbrellas. youll find it or just ask somebody, theyll probably know where it is, they do to go orders too!just call 714-536 0355 you wont regret eating the best breakfast around that will leave you satisfied with your tummy and your wallet.

You can go wrong at the Sugar Shack. It's the best. I am a long time visitor of +35 yrs. It's the place to go early in the morning before surfing or fishing.

The pancakes sucked here - bland and waaaay below par. The bran muffin was dry and boring. My grocer's freezer had better apple pie a la mode than this dump. The surfer dude waiter was really cool though. Visit this place if you have low standards.. I wont be back.

If you are going to HB to blend in with the locals, this is the true locals restaurant. (I have seen Dennis Rodman there too from Newport on his Harley) If you go to the Shack, sit in the back on the patio. Leave the front for the beautiful people who need to be seen. It's much nicer anyway. They have the best hashbrowns. I have heard people leave the restaurant saying, "honey, you know how I don't like hashbrowns, but I just couldn't stop eating them, they were so good!"

I was born in newport beach but ever since i was able to go to the beach with my dad, i would watch him surf and then we would always go to breakfast at the sugar shack. The food is sooo great and even though we moved when I was 6 I still go to the sugar shack every now and then after my dad goes surfing.

The Sugar Shack is a true landmark of Huntington Beach. The Owner Michelle Turner and family are great people. Check out why everyone will wait for so long to get a table, while IHOP across the street is pretty much empty. The food is amazing! I highly recommend the Denver Omelet. The Sugar Shack is by far Huntington Beach’s favorite breakfast. Wednesday nights they stay open late and have a turkey dinner with all the fixings. The service is great, and very personable. They always remember what I order, down to the way I like my toast. I cant say enough about Owner Michele.... the nicest, most kind hearted woman you could ever meet.

The sugar shack has wonderful outdoor eating for those who like to get a tan while eating breakfast/lunch/early dinner. It is located on Main street in Huntington Beach. You can sit outside on main street while eating and people watching. Just steps from the beach. Very fast service, the food is wonderful with fresh fruit, to die for french toast and much more! Kid friendly and pet friendly too!
