It was just okay. Pancakes weren't very fluffy or flavorful. A little soggy I guess. Based on the number of people in the restaurant and the wait you would have thought it was the best around. The waitress was very sweet but the food was kind of expensive for what you get. My husbands eggs benedict was better than most places though.

After reading the other positive reviews of Benedict's here on Mr. Breakfast, I was looking forward to experiencing a nice new (to me) breakfast place. What a disappointment.
I arrived at around 8:30 am on a weekday and was greeted by a sign that said, "Please Wait To Be Seated". I waited about 5 minutes before a waiter finally appeared to seat me. No big deal, but they weren't that busy, and while I was standing there, none of the employees seemed to care that there were customers who hadn't been greeted yet, never mind seated.
On a side note, I had already finished reading my morning paper and as I was being seated I asked the waiter if they had a place for old newspapers. He replied that, "You can buy them in the machine like everyone else." Once he realized I was trying to give him my old paper, he stuttered in suddenly broken English, "No, no, no place for paper."
After I was seated, I ordered coffee, which arrived in a carafe. The carafe insured my coffee cup stayed full, but the waitress was so scarce I had to ask the Mexican bus boys for water (agua por favor...)
As for the food, what else do you order on a first trip to a breakfast place called Benedict's? I ordered Eggs Benedict. It took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive, i.e., somewhat lethargic but not bad if the food is good. Unfortunately, it wasn't.
The English Muffin was stale, hard and chewy at the same time, and the hollandaise sauce was ridiculously salty, almost like soy sauce. The eggs were accompanied by about 2 tablespoons of hash browns. Made me wonder if potatoes have suddenly become expensive. The ham was okay, but was served with a giant steak knife that must have weighed about 3lbs. Reminded me of the West Texas expression, "Big Hat, No Cattle." In this case it would be, "Giant Silverware, Tiny Portions..."
It took some doing, but after craning my neck and flailing my arms, I managed to flag down a waitress and order an orange juice. Voila! Another disappointment. The juice was sour, probably just old. You want fresh squeezed? lol
Indifferent service, stale bread, sour juice, tiny portions, and giant silverware: $15 plus tip. That pretty much sums up my experience at Benedict's. In fact, the food and overall atmosphere reminded me a lot of the many other hotel/motel establishments in Addison.
If you're staying at a hotel in Addison and want better food than what the hotel buffet is offering, keep going, Benedict's isn't it.

Great food, would have gotten "awesome" but it was too pricey to be awesome. We did have to struggle to get service at times, but the service wasn't horrible.

Not your traditional southern style breakfast(no grits, steaks, or biscuits and gravey). Keeps the place full of class. I love the food and the service.
