Great Teddy Bear Pancakes for the kids - the owner makes them up special!! Friendly service, delicious homemade jams served with toast.

I really must have had my hopes up after reading the other reviews, as I was completely disappointed with the Toddle Inn Restaurant.
service was painfully slow even to get a menu or have our table wiped down.
for a basic breakfast combo (2 eggs, choice of sausage or bacon, home fries, toast, coffee) I'm surprised to see a greasy spoon like this place charge the $7 or $8 a plate before tax.
that said, after waiting at least 20 minutes for the order to arrive, I wasnt all that pleased with the meal. the home fries were in fact fresh and tastey, but the rest of the meal was just another run of the mill breakfast (that I could have enjoyed for a lesser price and a bigger portion at many of the other breakfast restaurants downtown).
thumbs down all in all.

I've been a patron of the Toddle Inn for an number of years. The reason behind my devotion is simply that the food is consistantly good. The service is very good and friendly, provided you know enough to get to know your server, and speak with him/her (mainly her). I have searched around town and been to many other establishments, however no one cooks breakfast in the traditional Canadian way like the Toddle Inn staff. That means no pre-cooked, then frozen for five years, "spiced" (you know, the paprika treatment...blah!) - home fried potatoes. Theirs are fresh, and unadorned. The food is traditional and honest. You can have your eggs any way you like, and they taste great. I love world foods, the spicier the better, but when I want an good old fashioned breakfast, at least Londoners have the Toddle Inn.
