Been going since 1957, yep its got bugs, crappy health dept. scores, but its got breakfast......best around. Hey, if you don't like the place, go back to where you came from. 99% of yall don't understand "hometown" , grandpa breakfast. Go back home.

Normally when a family goes out to eat, their food comes out together for the most part...but when everyone else is done eating & someone is still waiting for their food its pretty ridiculous. Their coffee is beyond awful. I gave this place a 2nd chance & I was sorry I did. Both times we waited almost an hour for our food to arrive. I never post reviews on these things, but I had to make an exception.

Bill Smith consistanty fails or scores terribly on it's health checks by the City of McKinney. I'd advise staying away because this has gone on for years and they still haven't cleaned up their act.

My husband and I have gone there for 45 years off and on. We always feel welcome there. He loves to go when I can't. You always find someone you know there to visit with.

I HAVE BEEN EATING AT BILL SMITH'S FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS NOW - I AM 30 YEARS OLD AND IT REMINDS ME OF THE SMALL COUNTRY PLACES MY GRAND DAD USED TO TAKE ME WHEN I WAS KNEE HIGH TO A GRASS HOPPER!! If you want to relive the 50's cafe Bill Smiths is the place for you. It's as rustic as they used to be...be prepared to talk to your waitress. They are friendly and one of the best parts of the experience. Real People, Real Food, Real Reasonable.

bill smiths is a great place for breakfast or lunch, excellent value and good ole country cooking..you cant beat it.The staff treat you like family at bill smiths, there are no strangers only friends.If you havent been to bill smiths stop on in and meet. bill smith, hazel, dee, dinky,and the gang. The cook smokes while he works. You know, the cook with the shaved head and all the tatoos and piercings. How they pass their health inspection is beyond me.

I love this place, especially when you consider the value. I must admit I haven't had breakfast there yet. The lunch specials are incredible (writing this in December 2006 lunch is $4.60 for an entree and three incredible side dishes).

There is no better place for quite a ways, especially if one considers the atmosphere as well as service and food. Its an old-time town cafe and there aren't that many of those around anymore. Plus my little boy absolutely LOVES the place.

Walking thru the smoking rooms to get to the non-smoking room is an experience. It makes you appreciate the non-smoking rules in most other restaurants. Eating off of plastic plates is not my preference, but the food is good and the service is much better than average. Always remember to tip those breakfast waitresses real well. They work hard for their money.

Best damn burgers in Texas. Breakfast always served hot and as ordered. Service is quick, fast and orders accurate. I would highly recommend Bills Cafe for breakfast, lunch, or simply just a cup of coffee.

Real red-neck, down home place. For the nonsmokers you must walk through two smoke filled dining rooms to get to the nonsmoking dining room. Fills up quick in the mornings, with lots of regulars.

Best item is Bill’s Hash Brown Supreme. Omelet was not cooked all the way thought.

Service was good and very friendly.

Open since the 50's. Current Owner bought the Restaurant from his parents. The Bill Smith's Cafe is open 365 days a year from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm Monday - Saturday and 5:30 am to 12:00 pm Sunday. They serve homemade Breakfast and Lunch items. Breakfast item speaciality includes Bill's Hash Brown Supreme - Hashbrowns, ham, onions with egg stirred in and topped with cheese (I like it with jalepenos). It comes with homemade bisquits and gravy or Texas Toast. Their homemade Pot Roast makes a great lunch along with the homemade rolls or cornbread.
