I also did an internship there through Mattawan Schools. I found the entire staff as well as the owner to be extremely friendly and everyone worked very well together. They are busy most days so the work was hard but highly rewarding. Most of the regular customers were curious who I was and asked questions about me personally. I loved the environment...and the food is spectacular! Thanx LaRue's for the opportunity!

My girlfriend and I went there for breakfast last week. Everything was quick, the waitress was very nice and helpful, and the prices were pretty good. I ended up getting the sunrise as the waitress suggested and liked it alot. We plan on stopping by on our weekend trips to Kzoo. :-)

My friend and I are both in our mid 20s and we walked in looking for a hearty breakfast. The waitress was friendly and recommended a breakfast burrito that we could hardly finish, and the coffee was plentiful and fast. I'd go again 100 times over.

me and my dad have gone to this restaurant many many times, the people are always very friendly and as well as the food is just great, and for the money there really isn't anything to complain about it's awesome :D

This is one of my families favorite places to eat. Very family friendly. Great food for not much more money than eating drive-thru.

Their breakfast menu is my favorite one around, the seafood omelette is fantastic.

Friendly waitstaff, good service.

My wife and I went to LaRue's mainly because of the strong reviews we read here.

We were not really surprised that we had to wait to be seated. They are obviously a busy restaurant.

However the waitress was evidently in a bad mood today. She was very short when questioned about the menu. She did not provide good service. I had to ask twice for the OJ that I ordered. My wife had a hard time getting coffee refills.

The sausage patties were evidently precooked because they were close to hocky pucks in consistency.

I asked if they had anything other than maple syrup and I was told they had blueberry. The waitress brought me one bottle of Smuckers Blueberry syrup with about 1/4 of an inch in the bottom of the bottle. I laughed and then asked if she could get more and she returned with what she said was all they had and that bottle had just under 1/2 inch in the bottle.

All in all not a real bad meal but the service and quality of some items and lack of preperation made it one I'll not make a return trip for anytime soon.

I can't honestly nominate LaRue's for an award. I'll only say that they need to try a harder if they want to get back to being the best in
Kalamazoo.

This restaurant serves breakfast all day long, and many people take advantage of this. I think the best feature is the excellent breakfest choices AND the great staff of waitresses. The place is small enough that you are never too far from the excellent service. You get refills on coffee probably 4 to 5 times, if it is half empty it gets refilled. They have had the same wait staff for years and they get to know you and what you usually order. It is my favorite place!!!
