Service was ok. Food was ok. Expected so much more from this Tulsa landmark.

Not only is the place nasty, the owner is cheap and rude. To cheap to clean it up.

I just don't understand positive comments. Food is average at best; service is down right awful; and the place is very run down and dirty. Way better alternatives; Phils, Blue Dome.

We've eaten at the Brookside BBD for years & like the food and staff very much. The place, however, is a pit. Nasty carpets, chairs, walls and doors. Kinda makes you wonder about the kitchen. The total disregard for upkeep is insulting to regular customers and embarrassing if you have the nerve to bring out-of-towers here. Business is always booming at BBD so why can't the owners spend some of their profits on a serious overhaul? Phill's is living proof that a busy neighborhood diner can offer good food and service at reasonable prices and still be spanky CLEAN. And afford to serve Heinz ketchup, which BBD replaced with a cheaper brand - sorry folks, you CAN tell the difference.

I've tried this place several times in the past 10 years or so, and it's just odd to me. The food's OK, the service is erratic, and the waitstaff alternates between performing a weird hybrid of a bad SNL skit and a rejected Seinfeld episode.....I think it would be titled The Loud Waiters. No one cracks these guys up more than themselves, and the attempted comedy performance is much more important than serving customers. Wouldn't take out of towners here, and overall I'd give it a "5" on a scale of 10.

I was pretty supprised because i had heard so many people suggest it to me but i was very much not impressed! The service was very good but was dissapointed by the food. i had biscuits and gravy and my friend had an omlete which i also tasted and disliked. I feel like since i had heard so much good about it that is possible i may give it one more shot but i'd rather eat at the blue dome diner any day

BBD is a good breakfast place. One of my favorites. First Watch is BY FAR the best in town but BBD is good. I am more accustomed to BBD II but I guess they are the same. My 2nd fave breakfast in town. And for lunch, their burgers are great as well.

I've lived in Tulsa for over 15 years & have eaten at a variety of "breakfast" hotspots. I have to agree with the folks downing BBD's. It's gone way down hill and really just in the last 4-5rs. It's "trendy" thats it. The waitstaff is loud & very often rude, with an attitude of we don't give a, "sh-t". On more than one occassion I waited for service & saw 3 other couples walk in after me & be waited on before myself. I just got up & left, and after the last time vowed never to return & will not ever go back. I suggest the 5&Dinner by the Harley Davidson store off the B.A. Expressway.

Average food which is overpriced. Wait staff, particularly with waiter with the shaved head, are much more interested in talking to each other, very loudly I might add, than waiting on customers. A place to avoid, seriously. Do yourself a favor and head to Phil's at 32nd and Harvard. Much less expensive and way better people.

Wow! Really suprised... This place was highly recommended by one of the locals, so I took my girl when she came to visit. I damn near had to do hand-stands on my chair to distract her from seeing the F-ING ROACH CRAWLING ON THE WALL NEXT TO HER HEAD!!! Call me jaded, but the food was just food, and our server seemed to have a massive hang-over. (It was sunday morning, so I don't blame him..)

I used to eat at BBD every day. They had excellent food and wonderful service (and as far as service, still do, for regulars anyway). Over the past few years, the restaurant has expanded, but the kitchen hasn’t. Food takes forever to get to your table (especially on weekends) and the quality has gone way down hill. The bacon, once the best in town, now often comes out looking and tasting like some greasy plastic chew toy. I am sad to see such a great place fall so far.

THE BEST BREAKFAST IN TULSA
I have lived in Tulsa for 11 years and have eaten at pretty much any breakfast joint in town, and I can guarantee you won't find a better breakfast anywhere in town. The omelettes are the best, they are light and fluffly and perfectly cooked. They have good service, and while they can be crazy at times I would not consider them rude, just having a good time with their job.

We've lived in Tulsa's Brookside area for years, and are continually amazed as to the following this place has. The omelettes are made from an egg mixture out of a carton, the home fries are mushy pre-pressed potatoes deep fried, the bacon is either undercooked or a cinder, and the biscuits and gravy are the kind you get pre-packaged from a Sam's or Costco. Tulsa isn't New York, but the wait staff seems to think that being rude and in-your-face is an attractive quality here. If you send something back because it's not prepared as you ordered, they give it back to you at the other end of the spectrum ("crispy" bacon arrived burnt and came back raw).
And I can understand a funky atmosphere, but c'mon - is it asking too much to fix the sidewalk in front?
BBD needs competition in providing a quality breakfast!

I love this restaurant not because its the best place ever to eat but because it makes me feel at home (Brookside locaction only). Yeah its crowded and noisy but I guarantee you will go back, there is just something about it thats hard to explain. I love their omelettes though and their coffee is great and they always have specials on the chalk board so dont forget to take a look.

Something to be proud of for "Tulsa" Nothing special. If you ever want to find AMAZING for less money and better service. Check out www.GriddleCafe.com they are based in Los Angeles, Ca. I thought BBD was the best breakfast place in america for the money.. But it looks like someone out there would put a grand whoopin' on em.

Sometimes icons become complacent, losing service but somehow keeping trendy. BBDs is not only the best service in town, at any time, but is one of the few places you can sit next to any strata of society at the same time. One not to miss!!!!

BBD is certainly good cooking, but we can't go overboard. The biscuts aren't homemade and the price is simply too high. The atmosphere and the overall food quality is great. Just don't go looking for value.

BBD (Brookside By Day) is the best place for breakfast in Tulsa. Excellent bacon, delicious cheese grits, friendly service and good coffee (with lots of cream) make it stand out.
