I have been eating TT for over 40 years How could anyone even try to question the hamburgers that are cooked to order with fresh grilled onion and what ever else you want on them, with a soft bun from wonder bread co. A 50s dinning plate, order of fries or rings or awsome hashbrowns. An ice cold coke and a piece of the best home-made pie around. The list goes on so get with it. The place has been around for over 70 years at 2021 broadway opened in 1937 and uses nothing short of the best food and atmosphere. So if your wanting to jump back in time when food was good and things were better check it out you just might see someone famous. So look for the big blue light blinking sign and pull in. enjoy.

Didn't try the hamburgers, but breakfast menu is limited. Tried a ham & cheese omelet, which was merely OK. Coffee is likewise not great, but OK. Not sure if I'd go back.

this is the greatest place in kansas city! it is old, small, tacky, and terrific. their cheeseburgers are great MORNING, noon, or (in the middle of the (night). I have been eating at Town Topic for over 40 years - it is the same great taste everytime. the only thing thst has changed is the jukebox- and, yes, i miss the old 45's - but the CD playing juke box still is loaded with country music - the best way to enjoy the place even if you prefer other types of music. as for the review i read about little pests - i have NEVER seen an unwanted visitor - not saying they might have one here or there, but the review about that being a problem is untrue (probably from some lazy person prefering a drive thru at a fast food joint). long live town topic!

OK, let me explain. This place has been here for a long time, and so have the roaches. The several I saw there were big enough to eat one of the small hamburgers they serve. I can't say anything good about a place this small that's too cheap to take care of a roach problem. It appears to have a somewhat loyal, noisy, trucker and cabbie clientele; at least that was the case when I was there. Never again.

Breakfast or burgers any time of the day. Especially good after midnight any night of the week, though if it's a weekend you'll have to wade through the the people crammed into the tiny little building (in total, has about 16 bar stools to sit on). Wait staff has a personality all their own. Try the "Truckstop." The burgers are very decent too.
