My wife and I ate here while staying in Lubbock overnight on our way to New Mexico. It's what a local diner should be: grizzled farmers rubbing elbows with Tech students taking a study break, bric-a-brac all over the walls, and plain food cooked and served well. A little on the pricey side, but well worth the trip. Don't go to the IHOPs and Denny's of the world; spend your money locally where the locals go. Recommended.

The pancakes were excellent. I'd never had sweet potato pancakes before eating at the Pancake House in Lubbock. I was there for my son's graduation and Mother's Day. I asked him to take me back there for my Mother's Day luncheon - just so I could have the pancakes one more time. I look forward to a return visit to Lubbock just to get some sweet potato pancakes!

"The Pancake House" has (or had when I was there) only four different pancake choices. Their French toast was called Freedom Toast. Give me a break! They had fake butter and fake cream, the syrup was 'way too sweet, and the service was bad. I'm sorry I didn't see the menu before waiting in line all that time.

This place has been open forever. My dad used to eat there. The employees have been there for years and the food is just like grandma made. Eggs are exactly as you ordered, the pancakes are melt in your mouth, steak and eggs are cooked to perfection
