A group of friends and I met at Valley Bistro for dinner on a very slow Tuesday night. We had a horrible experience. The food was below average (we ordered the fruit and cheese platter which turned out to be nothing more that a basket of packaged Saltine crackers and a small plate with three scoops of cheese and some fruit...not what we expected for $8.50). Our waitress was anything but helpful. We were at the restaurant for over forty-five minutes before she came to take our dinner order. In fact, she sat at a table outside with another party eating and smoking while we waited for her to take our order. Finally, someone in our party asked another waitress if we could place our dinner order and she sent our waitress to our table. To top it off, after we paid the bill and before we could leave, some random lady who apparently works at the restaurant came to our table and complained that we did not tip our waitress enough. We were astounished at the nerve of this lady, who never even introduced herself to us. We half-heartly explained that we had waited close to an hour to even place the dinner order, but frankly we were so surprised that she would confront us about the tip that we did not even get to mention the fact that the waitress sat outside with another party and relaxed while we waited inside.
I will not patronize this establishment again, which is unfortunate as I have friends that live and work in Florissant and welcome the opportunity to dine close to them. There is, however, a reason that people drive to Clayton/Chesterfield for dinner and that is because the choices in Florissant are so mediocre.

Good food in a delightful setting. Dine outside on a pleasant day! The French Toast is outstanding!
