It's an amazing place for breakfast. The line was out the door, but we took a chance anyway. We were surprised to be seated within 10 mionutes. The servers use handheld computers to take orders. This apparently is the greatest and fastest time saver ever invented. Our order started cooking before she ever stepped away from the table. We didn't have to wait for her to take a couple of other tables orders before turning ours in. We also didn't have to wait for her to go punch it into a computer terminal. It was all done as we ordered. What a wonderful surprise.
Our food was supurb. We had the pork chop breakfast and the eggs Benedict. We also had a side of gingerbread pancakes. Man were they good. It was a new taste sensation for us.
Our server was not only effecient, accurate and professional, she was also a very happy person. In fact, one of the things about the place that got our attention was how happy everyone is. It sure made us smile, and come to think of it, it made our day. How much more fun can you have for less than $10.00 per person.
We read another review that said they charge to share a plate. We asked about that, and they said they no longer charge. We considered sharing one entree, but it all looked to good to pass an opportunity to taste something different. We're looking forward to returning and trying the Cheese Burger Omelete, or going for lunch. They have chicken and dumplings on Tuesdays.
We recommend going there. Our expectations were far exceeded.

Beware of Poor Richards policy of not allowing diners to share their food without paying an extra share $$fee. My wife and I often share and never before run into this situation before, she is a light eater and often will order a side dish. She usually will take a few bites out of my plate. But at Poor Richards, we were told that this was forbidden and that they would have to charge a sharing fee. We told the waitress that this was ridiculous, but she said that it was their policy. This conversation reminded me of chicken salad sandwich diner scene from the movie “Five Easy Pieces”. We decided it was not worth arguing about and left, went down the street to Denny’s and had breakfast the way we wanted it w/o food police standing watch. Note: We have eaten breakfast at Poor Richards before and their food is par with Denny’s and IHOP, but I did like their home fries. But after this experience, we will never visit them again.

I was told about this restaurant by my brother who eats there alot.I was glad I came in.The food is great and there is a wide variety to choose from. There is plenty of staff on hand so if the line is out the door you won't have to wait long to be seated.Everyone there is really friendly and they even get to know you by name. This is a very clean restaurant and there are plenty of places to sit from two seated tables to booths. If you have a large group of people they will put tables together for you.Refills come very quick, and they are always stopping by to make sure everything is alright. The managers will go out of there way to make sure you have a nice visit. This is a cash only restaurant. You get alot of food for the money here and it is always hot and fresh.I'll be coming here every chance I get!!

Recently, I came across this web-site and found Poor Richards through it. My husband and I are breakfast eaters and I could'nt believe we live right down the road from it. We loved the warm welcome from the staff and our coffee was refilled as soon as we needed it. The food was so tasty, my mother-in-law would'nt even be able to tell the differnce between hers and Poor Richards. I was concerned about the bugs, but we saw none and the resturant was one of the cleanest we've seen. Thank you for a wonderful experience, we will be back.

My church men's group meets here every Friday morning for breakfast. The food is always fresh and the coffee is always hot! And, I've never seen a roach yet. Also, my mom never cooked like this!
