I have to agree with another reviewer. I used to send and bring friends here. When it closed we were all upset. Happy when they reopened UNTIL we ate there. WHAT HAPPENED!!!! Very disappointed with what once was the best place to frequent for any meal.

First off, let me say in general that since Samuel Hoffman's got a new owner (early 2005?), the selection, quality and quantity have greatly suffered. No longer the authentic NY deli it used to be.
My husband and I went here for breakfast on Labor Day and my husband ordered Steak & Eggs. The steak was rancid. My husband cut a piece, started to put it in his mouth, and stopped. We both looked (and smelled) it closer, and it had a green tinge to it and it smelled horrible. The waitress did take his meal off of the bill and offered a weak apology, but she was more intent on making excuses for the cook. We used to think this place was OK, but this experience ruined it for both of us. We have not, and will not, return.
