Absolutely great experience, indoor or out. The manhole-sized pancakes are just too cool, and never fail to elicit an "ooooooh!" whenever they are ordered for the first time, or seen at another table. My personal favorite is the red potatoes, which can be ordered with any number of ingredient combinations--broccoli, tomato, mushroom, and pepper jack cheese make me a happy girl. The portions are HUGE, so be prepared to split an order with a friend or get a to-go box :)

My husband and I were in town for a friend's birthday, before driving home Sunday morning we wanted to have a nice breakfast, while sitting outside. We came upon the Potato Shack Cafe. What a find!!! We got a nice table outside, the waitress immediately came up to our table...she was extremely friendly, and very amusing. I ordered the "B", which came with eggs, American potatoes, toast, sausage and bacon. My husband got the veggie omlette. My breakfast was spectacular. It arrived hot, and the eggs were prepared exactly the way I ordered them. The bacon was thick, and cooked to perfection. The toast was to die for. Thick, tasty wheat toast, with just the right amount of butter. The American potatoes were out of this world. Perfectly cooked, and well-seasoned. My husband enoyed his omelette very much. This is no a frills, downhome, fantastic restaurant.

This place we will rave about for years to come and whenever we are down in the area - my girlfriend and I will stop here for breakfast.
The service is great. The food is reasonably priced. The service is great. The service is great. This day in age - establishments have forgotten the importance of service. Potato Shack has not.
Look let me make it simple for you - try the potatoes - you will not be able to finish the food unless you have been traveling by foot for many days.
