Absolutely love this place. Lived in HI for 4 years and this place was the fist spot I went to breakfast. Food is awesome (especially the fruit stuffed French Toast), served pretty quickly. Staff has always been great, fast and friendly. Only downside is the fact that, despite the high volume of seating, this place fills pretty fast and lines will stretch down the road, so get there early, especially on weekends.

REALLY, REALLY greasy.... old school joint complete with counter and long term wait staff.
The coffee was weak, tasted like brown water, and Hawaii prides itself on the coffee, so that was a bummer. The bacon and eggs were super greasy... and believe me I can handle a little grease, but this was just too much. Had to abandon the eggs.... service is fine. did not try the pancakes, so maybe that is the way to go here.

The menu offers something for everyone. Omlette with "char siu"? Now that was a first and very tasty too. What better place to have breakfast than eat where the "locals" go. No non-sense decor and furnishings, but very clean. Hey, we're here to eat, right? A nice reprieve from tourist mania.

Try all the different kinds of pancakes! The Wailana Coffee House is a welcome oasis of normalcy (and normal prices) among the ocean of touristy, over-priced restaurants in Hawaii. It feels like a slice of local flavor. Try to get a wonderful, no-nonsense waitress named Fung, if possible. If you're pancake-lovers, like my family, you'll rejoice in the all-you-can-eat pancakes, which can be made with a variety of interesting ingredients including macadamia nuts as well as standard ingredients like blueberries.

A 24-hour coffee house that serves an impressive breakfast menu all day long. Most popular are the all-you-can-eat specials that come with bacon, eggs, hash browns, coffee, pancakes, and three different syrups. The place is usually full of patrons, but getting seated is quick and involves very little wait. And the whole atmosphere is upbeat, from the customers to the waitresses. A must-visit if you're in the area.
