A complete lack of thought to presentation. Ordered a party melt. Two slices of bread, a patty dropped on a side disk plate with a small bag of chips dropped on the table.
Ugly presentation and clearly an afterthought to the menu. While this is a breakfast house that does not give license to not provide quality on non breakfast items. If they don't want to make things other than breakfast, don't put it on the menu.
I will never return. I recommend that they go out of business.

The service stinks and the place smells. For a diner, the prices are crazy... and the place looks like it might fall down any second.

We will never eat at Aunt Martha's again. Our first time will be the last time. Pancakes were sour tasting and had a yellow color to them that was not right. The biscuit was hard, the gravy was from a package and tasted sour. The hashbrowns were so cold I sent them back. Husband says eggs were ok but how do you mess up over medium? It was not cheap either. $8 dollars a piece for breakfast? They charged a buck and a half for a .15 cent cup of gravy that was sour! Bathrooms were behind the kitchen, had no vents and were barely accessable by foot. Handicapped individuals would never get back there! There are lots of places in springfield that are better than this. Try one of those. Don't eat here unless you want to be disappointed.

We plan a least two trips to Springfield just to eat at Aunt Martha's! That is 4 hours one way for breakfast. There are not many places left like Aunt Martha's. Hope the owner, Ruth, is in better health. For the folks who did not like Aunt Martha's, they can go to Cracker Barrel so there will be room for folks like us that appreciate the old diner fare. This is our 18th year of eating at Aunt Martha's. Do miss seeing the Sweet 10 on the tables though.

The waiter fingered an egg right in of us to see how they were cooked. I think that's a real sick thing to do. Would not eat there if I had to, plus the meat was bad.

My family has eaten here on the way to Table Rock Lake and Branson since the 1960s. If you're looking for a fancy, updated restaurant, this is not the place. Their bathrooms also, shall we say, leave something to be desired. In every other category, you can't beat this place for breakfast. (Can't comment on other meals since I've never had them.) More variety, especially in pancakes, than almost anywhere else. The fact that they are very tasty helps too. Their huge apple pancake (with large apple wedges, whipped cream, and hot apple syrup) are a classic. Also unique is their tropic isle pancakes - with coconut inside and covered in an orange sauce. They're all good, though. I like a lot of their other breakfast food too. Their biscuits and gravy are the second best I've ever had. The patty sausage is great, as are their hash browns and grits. I personally don't care for frittata-style omelettes (which they serve), but others do. Always friendly and accommodating service. Used to get a waitress who actually remembered our family even though we usually only came once a year (we eat a lot). The lady who everyone calls Aunt Martha (who actually isn't the "real" Martha) is a fixture that we enjoy each time we return. Don't plan on losing weight eating at Aunt Martha's - all that lard takes a toll - but if you want old-fashioned and tasty home cooking for breakfast, don't pass it up. Yum!

I suggest to customers with slight accent to don't enter this place, otherwise you will be ignored and not be served.I told to lady, who was sitting on cashier's chair (MGR?,OWNER?),that this is ridiciuolos, that my wife,my kid and I waited 10 min to be served, but we've been ignored by the
"restaurant"servers, and customers (3 tables),who came after us been served immidiately.I also told her, that I will wright a complaint letter to the city, and her response was:"YOU DO THAT SIR!".
We left the "restaurant"very upset, and my son had a tearfull eyes, and he couldn't understand why we left such of "civilized restaurant" without having a food(he is only 5 years old).
P.S.
TO RESTAURANT MANAGMENT,PLEASE HANG AT LEAST A SIGN ON ENTRANCE DOOR,EXPLAINING WHAT'S YOUR CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT STANDARTS
IN THAT CASE WE WILL KNOW,THAT WE ARE NOT WELCOME TO YOUR "CIVILIZED ..........".

I've eaten at Aunt Martha's so many times when I used to live in Springfield. The food is delicious..especially the ham steaks, hashbrowns and biscuits and gravy. You have to get there early or on off hours or there will be a wait!! It's one of the best breakfast diners around in my opinion.

I went to college at MSU. I gained 20 pound in Springfield and I would be happy to attribute half of them to Aunt marthas. This is the BEST breakfast restaurant Ive ever been to and hands down the best breakfasts Ive ever had. The peanut butter pancakes are OBCENELY EXCELLENT. I crave them unlike anything I have ever craved. Yes it is busy, but its worth the wait. Go to IHOP, it is busy, but not worth the wait for cookie cutter breakfast food. LONG LIVE AUNT MARTHAS!!!

I think Aunt Martha's is one of Springfield's best kept secrets and one of the few remaining places to get a real home cooked meal. A step back to the good ole days if you will.
Personally I love this place. Great down home cooking, friendly service, and the best ham-steak I have ever had. Oh and can't forget the best restaurant coffee either, bar-nun.
Please keep an open mind when going as this is not your typical corporate restaurant. She's privately owned so you can't compare her to a Denny's or something like a Firstwatch.
If you're looking for great food at a reasonable price with a relaxed family type atmosphere you need to visit Aunt Martha's.
Enjoy!

I really enjoy all day breakfast type of establishments. Aunt Martha's popularity isn't trivial, its a really good place to gnab a good homecooked type of meal. Though i like Waffle House's hashbrowns, i'd put Aunt Martha's at a close second, as her hash browns are also very good. Check it out if you want that "diner" experience and courteous staff. Cramped? well sure its not as big as say the Cracker Barrel, but the attributes to the diner feel, so just get cozy or hit it at off hours like mentioned in another review here.
If you want to get stuff and like meat, get the Beef and eggs, basically a really thick burger patty and eggs how ya like em.

I love the peanut butter pancakes here. They are wonderful and so full of gooey peanut butter. I always treat myself to them and have for years after going to the doctor for anything unpleasant. Don't recommend them after an upper GI though

Went to Aunt Martha's on the recommendation of a friend, and we were not disappointed.
I got the peaunt butter pancakes, and they were OBSCENE. I'd had peanut butter pancakes previously only at one other place. In that case, the peanut butter pancakes are regular pancakes with some peanut butter chips thrown into the batter. In Aunt Martha's case, it is three enormous pancakes with about half a jar of peanut butter melted over them with peanut butter inside as well. It kept me filled up all day.
As promised above, Aunt Martha herself was sitting behind the register.

Interesting bit of trivia: Willie Nelson used to wash dishes here. Ask Martha, she'll tell you. She's be behind the register. My favorites are the cornmeal pancakes, but the round, frittata-style omelettes are also worth trying. Those saying this place is overpriced need to stop eating at McDonald's and part with that extra dollar. The place is cramped though, and popular, so I'd recommend off-hours.

Even if you weren't much of a fan of Pancakes before, you'll love this place with their gingerbread pancakes plus chocolate chip, strawberries-n-cream, cornmeal, peanutbutter...the list goes on and on. Even the menu is shaped like a pancake. This joint in an old-fashioned, small town diner where you get the nicest service. Willie Nelson used to be a dish washer here! Branson is located just miles south of this yummy restaurant. Meet Aunt Martha herself. She's the cashier. This restaurant has won numerous Best Breakfast Awards in town.
