This family owned restaurant is rare today. Very hands on, attentive to known customers, welcoming to new customers. The wait staff run hot and cold to customers. The customers are noisy, self absorbed and seem to talk over each other tables. If you are into that kind of rudeness, you'll fit right in. The customer base is more up scale, Bollywood types. The food overall is very good, but you will feel it in the pocket if you're a group of four or more. Worth it. Old money and young business flakes. French press coffee very good.

John O'Groats is an outstanding breakfast restaurant. If you want ordinary, go to Denny's. (And, by the way, I like Denny's.) If you want fresh breakfast fare, in a hospitable "Mom and Pop" setting, there is no place better.

It is a very busy restaurant, but the wait was less than 10 minutes. The coffee was strong and flavorful. The service was great- the host- paul very friendly and personable- the waitresses were very attentive. Loved those pancakes- the pumpkin and lemon curd - out of this world! Sampled the eggs benedcit and artichokes- wow! My compliments to the chf- Guillermo! Will definitely make the drive fr downtown LA to the westside anytime for this wonderful breakfast.

I ate here in April with my wife and daughter, the service was lousy and the food was equally bad. They seem to cater to the regulars. We would NEVER go back.

Great breakfasts in a fun, "star sighting" atmosphere. Owner is incredibly friendly, and makes sure youre taken care of. Billy Baldwin, Julia Roberts, Debra Messing - seen them all here. More importantly, the pumpkin pancakes are fabulous!

Horrible service, but I keep coming back for the amazing pumpkin pancakes. The complimentary biscuits are a nice way to distract from the bad service. If you really want something, ask the busboys not the waitresses.

Good, hearty food. The bacon is to die for, thick cut, and as some people call it - "better than sex bacon".
Also really good for dinner, with their corn-mashed potatoes as a bed for savory chicken.

Best breakfast in L.A. Awesome pancakes and wonderful egg dishes. Only drawbacks: louswy parking and a long wait on weekends.

Hearty, delicious breakfasts...staying true to the spirit of Scotland -- maps of which decorate the walls. Very friendly owner and managers. If you like steel-cut oatmeal, this is the place! And do NOT pass up the sourdough toast! Thick, with a perfectly crispy crust and chewy middle. Absolutely delicious with the orange marmalade served with it! Nice tables -- or a great, spacious counter if you are alone.

Very busy restaurant but nothing special. The service was not that great and the food just so-so. Wouldn't go back
