I have eaten here many times in the past. Used to be my favorite. My last couple experiences were plagued by cold food, slow refills for coffee and a rushed in and out feeling. I think the lady forgot about my plate as finally a different server brought it out...cold. I think my money will go to debs next time.

This is our book clubs weekly get together location. The cookie Jar's employees know us all by name. The cookies and homemade cimm'n rolls go great with the coffee or expresso. I love the eggs with grits.

There is nothing special about Cookie Jar. It has a boring menu, boring tasting food, nothing special. Now, when you talk about the cookies and cinnamon buns, which can be bought over the counter, then thats great...they are delicious. My husband and his friends like going there after work, but he and I wont go there as a couple.

My husband and I worked near the Cookie jar when it first opened and went there often for breakfast. The food and service were wonderful. We have since moved our workplace and do not get there as often. This morning we went in for breakfast and waited 25 minutes for our food. When it arrived, it was cold - like it had been sitting for at least 15 minutes. Our server, who said she was the manager, forgot to bring a requested item and acted like we were unreasonable when we complained that the food was cold. We asked for the bill and mentioned we probably wouldn't be back - our waitress said that would be fine. A side note - "friends" of the waitress staff were seated after us and another table that arrived before us. The "friends" were served at least 10 minutes before either of our tables. The ambiance at this restraunt is exceptional but from now on we will eat breakfast where the food and service are exceptional even if our surrounding are a little dated.

The Cookie Jar serves an awesome breakfast and Sunday brunch. Some breakfast items are available all day! Try the country-fried steak - the Cookie Jar serves prime rib, and the country-fried steak is leftover prime rib battered and fried on premises and served with housemade sausage gravy - moist, juicy, tasty, and tender. All baked goods served are made from scratch. The kitchen tends to run slow, especially on Sunday brunch, so allow yourself a good hour on the weekdays and 1.5 - 2 hours for Sunday brunch. This is the best breakfast this 'local' has found in Fairbanks. In addition, the restaurant is completely smoke-free!
