Heard about this place for years - finally made it in after checking their website to make sure this was as good as I heard - looked great - got there was immediately served with a fresh cup of coffee and a smile, ordered their signature dish the Skillet country ham - not what you expect when ordering country ham - this was tender, cut with a fork and the flavor was out of this world, it came with a side of their red eye gravy - Yum! The eggs were cooked just like I ordered - not the case in many places. The biscuits are the BEST - needless to say, all of the years of being told to go here were true. Glad to know there is a place in Atlanta that since 1956 still cares. I WILL BE BACK.

The Silver Skillet always made me uncomfortable and I think it was because the place just didn't seem to be sufficiently sanitary. Although the food isn't bad I have never enjoyed going to the Skillet

One of a kind in a big city - service from the old school: good ,friendly and fast. Food is just like you would expect in a southern diner: hot, tasty and plenty of it. Best I've had in a LONG time.

Classic greasy spoon diner feel. Reminds me of Mel's but the service and food are outstanding. Great atmosphere and the staff is great. Get there early or you'll have to wait.
