I won't lie. My grandmother is a waitress there, and she has helped keep that place going for 16, almost 17 years. I don't know what the one reviewer ate or anything, but it looks clear to me that she has a grudge against Phyllis or Spiro. But about the restaurant itself- the food is great. Nearing the end of school when I was still in Bound Brook I would go there everyday. And after church. 1/2 cups of coffee, amazing coffee it was, too! Then the eggs, so fluffy! and Never burnt! Never have I had anything there burnt. By the way, that is the best part of town to have a restaurant in! New owner isn't the best, but he is bringing a new side to the long-loved restaurant! Love it!

How am I caught? I was NOT in hiding. I do not have any personal relation to Phyllis so why would I be jealous or hate her? I just can't understand why someone would review their own diner and hype it up to be something it is clearly not. And I have eaten at that diner ONCE in my entire life and it wasn't good at all. By the looks of the new Douglas diner I am not really tempted to go in there either. I reviewed the Golder Corner, Time to Eat and Bills II all in one day b/c I was on a website to review diners..that is what you do. You don't have to review each diner a different day of the week; NOR do you have to review them right after you eat there. I stumbled upon this site through my co-worker and decided to go on and rate the diners I have been to. Since the three diners I reviewed are in close proximity, why is it so weird that I review them? I live in the area and these are the diners I ate at; in which I gave my reviews!

To respond from the first post, its kind of funny how you are reviewing a diner that has been sold to new owners for over a year. I know who you are, you are a idiot and made yourself know especially when you reviewed Bills, Time to Eat and Golden Corner all in the same day. I mean you have to have a great memory you ate at Bills what maybe like a year and half ago and you are reviewing it NOW!!! Jeaulosy is not a good thing my friend. And you looking like a idiot is even worse. Just admit you don't like Phyllis and thats why you posted that remark. And by the way all three diner use the same coffee LACAS!!!!!

The person below me who wrote that review was the co-owner, Phyllis!! Obviously you can tell the restaurant wasn't that great if the owner has to lie and hype up the place to be something it's not. The food isn't great at all, the diner is very small and in a not so good section of Bound Brook. Actually new owners took over so I don't know how it is anymore..I think it's now called Douglas's Diner. Can't say how the food is now, but I was a little irritated to see the owner lieing about her restaurant.. "Don't know what kind of coffee they use".. give me a break!

This small diner-family type restaurant has the best coffee around the area. The breakfast I ordered (eggs over light with sausage, home fries and toast, along with coffee) was cooked to my satisfaction. The waitress was pleasant and even the owner/cook came out of the kitchen at one point to greet some customers. I don't know what type of coffee they use but refills are unlimited and served as soon as my cup emptied. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy a good breakfast at very reasonable prices.
