Talk about a great experience. The brunch buffet was equipt with a carving station, waffle station, and omelet station. There were many other irresistable entrees and a variety of freshly made vegetable, pasta, chicken, and fruit salads. The dessert table was loaded with different pies, cakes, chocolate covered strawberries, and even warm bread pudding!! The service was outstanding. We had a young, dark haired waitress that was most likely a student at the University. She made sure that not only my wife and I were taken care of, but that our children found something that they enjoyed as well. A great place to go for a relaxing Sunday morning.

A bright and airy room with fresh flowers and white linen tablecloths in the historic Carolina Inn next to the UNC Campus. We had the two egg breakfast with corned beef hash and home fries ($8) and cast iron skillet shirred eggs with tomato, country ham snd skillet potatoes ($7.50). These came with toast or biscuits. The biscuits were good but not great - and great biscuits are easy to come by in these parts. Wonderful coffee ($2) and fine service. A buffet breakfast is also available ($8.75).
Our visit was in early January 2004 and the hotel's extravagant Christmas decorations were still up. They are based on "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and, along with the gingerbread house exhibition, well worth seeing.
