One of the better places in the area, nice atmosphere and vibe. Wait on weekends but not during the week. If you have to walk from the Davis 'T', this is the best place around (better is soundbites).

Extremely bad experience. Busboy temper-tantrum was the hi-light of the visit. Waitress took over 15 minutes to greet us despite there only being 3 tables taken in her area. When coffee finally arrived had to wait another 10 minutes to get the cream for it, then another 10 to have our order taken.
Ordered french toast with strawberries. Strawberries were rotten, that old mushy gray color rotten. Bread was beyond stale, it actually crunched when chewed. Also was served cold. Extra bonus of plastic on the bread. Breakfast-mate ordered waffle with apples, cinnamon and walnuts. Contained perhaps 1 walnut chopped very finely. Obviously canned apples.
Was supposed to come with whipped cream, when asked for the waitress got huffy, brought the can to the table, squirted some out and asked "that good enough for ya?".
Place itself is not clean, at 8:00 on a Sunday morning, there was food all over the floor and tablewear was spotted and felt greasy. Half of the free tables were empty and still had dirty plates on them.
Overall not worth the money, and we weren't charged for the french toast. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Great neighbrhood spot, but always a wait on weekends, best bet is a weekday morning. They have a variety of options and a great place to go if you travel with non meat eaters.

This is our favorite breakfast joint. We'll even get out of bed early in winter to go to Renee's. You have to get there early on Saturdays and Sundays, because even with a recent expansion, there are always lines outside by 10am.
The food's great. Plenty of it, a slight cut above greasy spoon. The homefries are to die for, and if you're a pancake lover, the "I'm a Lumberjack" comes with a side of pancakes to go with the eggs and bacon or sausage. Coffee is always hot and always kept refilled. Sometimes you'll have to get the waiter or waitress's attention for this though if it's busy.
The service is great, very friendly, very efficient, and they treat regulars like royalty.
