Today was the first time I've eaten at Steakburger.. It WON'T be my last.. I had the "Sourdough Steakburger" and asked for it with Grilled Onions.. It was magnificently well executed.. The Onion Rings we ordered were Fresh, Hot, Crisp outside and tender inside and to top it off, a Super thick, Rich Chocolate Malt shake (The large shake was More than I could handle all by myself, so I had to share it with my Lovely wife... I'll survive I guess LOL). Gonna' go back later this evening to play some Miniature golf at Golf O Rama and have another shake (a small one this time).

Being a transplant to Vancouver, I missed out on the early days of SteakBurger, but I don't miss out now. They undoubtedly serve the best hamburger and onion rings I have seen all over the nation. The shakes and malts take me back to the days of youth growing in South Florida. The place is clean, well kept and I have always been well received by friendly people. With stiff competition on either side, it's great to see a resraurant not compromise on quality and still serve a good old fashioned burger.

I've been going to Steakburger for 35 years and in the past 3 years the place has really gone down hill. The service at breakfast is horrible and the food has been cold on more that one occasion. They still make a good tasting burger but that's it. I would like to see someone buy the place and restore it to it's glory days. I ate there last week and it was the first time in over a year. It's sad to see a good restaurant go down like that.

My brother and I have been coming in to this establishment for many years, and have always had good food.......NOT THIS TIME!!! What happened? My steakburger was RAW and I had to take it back. The second time around wasn't much better-the meat was still very red. And there was so much shredded lettuce and sauce on it that it was not etible! It was total SLOP!! I even took a picture of it to send in because it was s awful. ALSO, the place was dirty.....food on the benches and tables, napkins and food on the floor, it was a real mess. Let me know if you want to see the picture of the SLOP!! NEVER AGAIN. GO AHEAD AND TEAR IT DOWN!!!

I've been going to this restaurant for over 25 years. It's been open since the early 1960's. Most restaurants don't survive that long. I've seen the owner's daughters grow up into adults now with their own families. I've seen young girls start out there with their first job and leave to start a whole new life of their own going to college, starting families and coming back to visit with their own kids. My kids, now in their 20s had gone to Steakburger for food and to play golf. If you've ever been there you will never forget the "volcano" hole. An evil golf hole with a volcano like structure with a lowly golf cup perched in the center of the top. Anyone who has ever been there doesn't forgot that hole. I'm sure there are a lot of other names for that hole. Today as I read the local Columbian newspaper there's an article that this restaurant may soon be sold and demolished. What a shame, so many memories...Where else can kids go to enjoy themselves playing golf having some food and hanging out together outside? But I guess that is progress isn't it. Rebuilding the site with a bank or another "fast food" place. At least I'm glad my kids got to enjoy Steakburger while it was here. Bye to Bob, Marilyn, Doug, Wanda, Harvey(and his stories) and Ruth, Fred with his unbelievable tales, Lori, Lisa, Tina and Romero and their kids, Terri and family, Tami, Kevin and their family. Also Sheryl and Judy from the original crew I first knew over 20 years ago. Later employess like Deanne, Robin, Scott, Shirley,Judy, Linda, Debbie, Rachelle,
Stephanie, another Lori, Shannon, Ashley, Mike,
Austin, Sarah, Melissa and Kelly. There are many, many more that I have forgotten and/or missed. Apologies to them. I guess I'll have to have coffee with "the wife" from now on or find another hangout at 6:30am in the morning with my numerous coffee buddies. If the place closes for sure, all the ex-employees, customers, vendors and/or associates should come back and say goodbye one last time. Miss, could I have another refill please???

The best thing about the Steakburger/Golf O Rama combo is that it is good family fun very reasonably priced. The breakfasts are awesome plus there's a real "family feel" about the way it is run. For the nostalgia buffs, the place has been around since the early 1960's and is in pristine condition considering nothing much has changed. I highly recommend it to everyone! If we don't ALL support places like this then pretty soon they will all become just another nostalgic memory.

An unusual combination of a 1960s roadside diner and a miniature golf course.
ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT pancakes for $1.80 plus tax! The cheapest breakfast I've seen in a long time. And the pancakes actually taste good!
They also serve waffles, french toast, biscuits and gravy, and eggs. No omlettes, though.
The most expensive breakfast plate is $5.30. Because of the low price, they ask you not to split your meal with others.
Well worth trying if you are on a tight budget.
