I love owens 501 diner.It has great food, great service, and a very friendly atmosphere. They have a good selecion of wine.My kids love their homemade cookies and milkshakes.

Some people just don't seem to know any better!

To the person who thinks this is the "best ever,"
I can only say if you spent ten years eating the garbage in this dump and think it's good, you really must not get out much, or not at all.

The food was lousy, the service was hit-and-run, and it was a noisy, dingy and unappealing dump.

I was greatly amused by some local business award
I saw hanging on a dirty wall. The award was for
something like best conversion of a business property. Apparently, the place was a gas station before it was a diner. Well, it certainly
maintained all the ambience of a grease pit, I'll
give it that.

LOL.. I've eatin' here for ten years and have no idea what the heck these other people are talking about! Oh my gosh...I have to go look and see if they have reviewed one of my restaurants. :-o

One wonders how some places pass health inspections. This place is a ptomaine trap.
Filthy. Cooks are nasty. Dishes are greasy.
YUCHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Greasy spoons can still be found. I just found one at Owens Diner. Greasy. Dirty. Loud, noisy
and raunchy. Food reminded me of a bad bus station luncheonette experience. I've eaten better in gas station grills.

Foul-mouthed cook audible throughout diner. His incessant and very loud use of profanities and inappropriate comments set the tone for the entire experience.

Food was mediocre at best, and was often overcooked, undercooked, stale or held too long in steam tables. Obvious use of stale/unfit ingredients.

Service was inconsistent, usually below average.

Cleanliness rating is pretty bad. Streaked and spotted dishes & utensils. Tables not clean. Built up dirt on floors and walls. Restrooms untended (dirty, out of toilet paper, out of paper towels).

I am a chef/restaurant professional, and my best tip on Owen's Diner is that it is a total hole.

Avoid this one.
