Food is excellent "Southern diner all fancied up for the big dance" style. I'd give it at least a "very good" rating if it weren't for the service. The quality of service is good when uncrowded but goes to hell in a handbasket when the restaurant is much over half full. The food makes it worthwhile (better than the nearby Foster's and Guglhupf) as long as you have the equanimity to laugh at the service 3-ring circus (but if there's a line waiting for seating be prepared to fight or bribe your way in, the hostess ignores order of arrival).

Small. Bustling. Full of basketball fans on the way to their big games and excellent service in spite of that. Great coffee and hearty diner fare. All the breakfast dishes and breakfast meats including pork tenderloin, steak and bologna!
I prefer their other newer location in Woodcroft but this is where it all started and they have a lot of fans - and I'm not talking basketball.
