Great breakfast place, the Montana is my fav (I can only manage the small the large will serve 5 easily), may wife likes the sweet pea. Very friendly and nice staff (many have been there 10 years or more). Food always hot (and comes quickly)even during the weekend morning rush, and oh yeah plenty of good basic coffee. Also had dinner here a few times very good comfort type food (at a reasonable price!). We like to bring out of towners to this place!

We were in on June 12th. We were seated promptly. The problem was under the fans, it was cool. When a table became empty we asked if we could trade seats and were told NO, you can't do that because it was another waitresse's section and we already ordered our breakfast. The Hostess did turn off the fans. It was the manner in which she said that was rude. So to make matters worse another couple took the table because they did not like their table. We have been coming in for years when we are in the Area. Guess what we won't be in anymore. Do not wanted to be treated like a child and embarrassed in front of other customers. The Waitress that waited on us was very nice and the Busboy.

Every second year we tavel from Australia to Seattle for Christmas. A Montana at the 12th Ave Cafe is a must. I can't wait to get back for my next one!

We just tried out this restaurant for the first time - looking for a replacement for Julia's, which I not so affectionately call "the dirty place". I was not impressed. The food was just average, and the bill came to $30 for two unsatisfactory meals, a side of bacon and an OJ. We both had the Eggs Benedict - they were drowned in sauce (not in a good way). The eggs were a bit overcooked and the ham was barely edible. Substitutions to the side of potato were limited and odd - tomatoes or cottage cheese. We'll try the Issaquah Cafe next time, or maybe even go back to the dirty place, where at least the food is good.

We have eaten here on a regular basis for the last 10 years and without exception have not been disapointed! Everything on the menu is worth having time and again. Best pancakes by far...the Montana is to die for, huge portions and great friendly service...

My wife won't eat anyone else's pancakes. I love the Montana. It's not a large restaurant but the food is consistently wonderful.
