Super comfortable restaurant. The breakfast sandwich that I got was terrific. Price are okay. Decent coffee. Excellent service. Good experience overall.

Been eating here for years, always bring visitors from out of town. All the Europeans are always shocked at the portion sizes, one meal here could feed a family of four.
The service in the past is usually both fast and friendly, but recently a few of the new waiters seem to have a bit of an attitude.
House Scramble is fabulous and do try the Red Eye coffee, pretty strong stuff, you'll be up for days.
Lulu's good but it's still a mystery as to why it's so packed on a Sunday morning, Cayenne the restaurant a few stores down is just as good and yet half empty!

I have been eating at Lulus for years. The food has always been fairly good. There are lots of breakfasts to choose from, and lots of subsitution choices. The service has never been great, but it has gotten worse.
One morning recently, after or meal, the bus boy came to clear our plates (without asking if we were done) and told us that there were other people waiting to eat. Five minutes later, after we had paid, he did it again. This time he took our coffee cups. When we complained to the manager we were told that if we don't like it there we should go eat at Toast. (Rumer has it they have the same owners) We could not believe our ears. We were not being rude or loud. We were just telling the manager what happened. The manager made a bad situation worse.

Lulu's is an interesting place...you'd swear by the number of people waiting in line on the weekends that it must be the best breakfast in town. Alas, that is not the case; however, the food is decent and the sidewalk tables provide a nice ambiance on a sunny morning.
On a recent morning, I had an omelette. The filling choices are wonderful...many to choose from, including sun-dried tomato, fresh turkey breast or turkey sausage, various cheeses and many veggies, to name a few. You get FOUR filling choices in an omelette...not bad! My only complaint is the chef's laziness -- instead of the fillings folded into and wrapped in the omelette, they're sort of just lying underneath a blanket of eggs. Oh, well...it still tasted good. And, unlike many restaurants, Lulu's serves actual FRESH FRUIT (as a substitute for potatoes if you wish), and NICE fresh fruit at that -- a mix of fresh blueberries, melon, pineapple, strawberries, bananas.
Two MAJOR problems, though:
The coffee refill service is pretty poor. My coffee cup sat empty for over 10 minutes. Not a good thing at breakfast...AND...what's up with the stingy, miserly one-piece-of-toast with the egg/omelette breakfasts? Seriously -- you get ONE piece of toast. Not two. Talk about cutting corners!
Overall, not bad...but they really need to get it together with the coffee and the toast!
