I find breakfast at gladstones to be one of Malibu's best kept secrets - particularly on weekdays. Monday through Friday at breakfast Gladstones is much more peaceful than on busy weekends. And the dolphins are often swimming by - beautiful! Shari has always taken good care of me and is usually generous with the coffee refills. Amy too. But maybe it's because I'm a respectful regular. I have seen some very rude people dining out in this town. It's not a fast stop for breakfast - it's a full service restaurant. I usually relax with a paper and enjoy the view. You should try the Crab Cakes Benedict - they're awesome. And the coffee comes with great condiments on the side -- mocha whipped cream and chocolate chips! When I'm done with breakfast, I go sit outside at the empty tables on the public deck and do some work. Much more pleasant than my home office. And here's a helpful hint --- reservations do make a difference when going to this potentially very busy establishment.

Go on down the road (north on Pacific Coast Highway) to eat breakfast at Dukes - especially Sunday brunch! Gladstones was dirty and the people up front are unpleasent.
