We woke up with a gnawing in our stomachs that could only be satisfied by an omelette. Racking our brains and pleading with google on how we could quickly obtain such a panacea for our morning ills, we realized that the little coffee shop on Jackson served breakfast, and all day!
We made our way there and tried it out. It looked a bit funny on the outside, but the inside was very clean and had a homey, old-timey atmosphere, except for the crude cardboard caricature of a skanky woman over in the corner, ostensibly boosting beer sales. Sitting in sight of this abomination could possibly have ruined the romantic breakfast atmosphere we sought, so we sat at a booth where the only icon in view was of Jesus, over the door, looking slightly bemused and disapproving of his portrait being hung opposite such a monstrosity. But enough about the decor.
The waitress was very friendly, though she was possibly half-elven, as her eyelids betrayed a green, glittery sheen when she blinked. I guess the elvish people have an appreciation for coffee, as the coffee service was excellent. I had about 5 refills and she gave us our own metal flask of ice-cold cream.
The food was a classic breakfast. I had eggs over-easy and hash-browns, which were filling and quite good, though my better half had the better sense to order a steak omelette. In her words: "As heavy as it sounds and still good. The avocados I think were a good decision."

We really enjoyed the food and the price point made it that much better ($8 omlettes $1.75 coffee). Portions worth the price.
We went near noon after church and the coffee did not flow as freely as I would like BUT given the time of day I am not willing to hold this against them. I'll try again at a much earlier hour and see if this still holds true.
The ambiance was that of an old school coffee shop, and it was VERY clean. A nice touch.
The only other complaint was the use of canned mushroooms in the omlets. But we did add avacode and they were nice size chunks and plentiful so that helped off set the mushroom complaint. I would not complain about the mushrooms - but I did pay $1 to add them to my omllette...so was a put off. Still the rest of the meal was great and they have white gravy - this is a make or break for me. No white gravy - I will not be back.
After 4 years of driving past each morning on my commute down Jackson Blvd, I was VERY glad to have finally stopped in. Looking forward to trying their lunch.

We love finding small breakfast places, and this is one of the best in Hayward.
This place has great portions and many items with a spanish flair. Try one of the Chorizo and egg dishes or you can't go wrong with the pancakes.
This is a place that derserves a return visit.
