The Loveless used to be the very best. But not anymore. Not since the new owners bought the place from Donna. The biscuits are not as good as they once were. The omlet is not as good (ham is not ground anymore). They don't give you as much of the spreads. Or biscuits.
When you consider what Loveless used to be compared to what it is now, I have to rate it only one egg. When you throw a bucket of paint on the Mona Lisa, you get just one egg. If I could give it less than one egg, I would.

I've been going to the Loveless Cafe since I was a child growing up in Nashville (and I'm...well, just about the age of the Loveless!). Even though I live in the north now, I am in Nashville often, and often as not, you'll find me going to Loveless for at least one meal. Being a southerner, I love the grits, country ham, and red eye gravy. Have a little peach preserves on the side, then put the blackberry jam on your biscuits. Don't go to the Loveless for omelets! You can get omelets everywhere--get that good tough, salty Tennessee country ham. Yum, yum, yum!

This is nirvanna for breakfast eaters. My son goes to Belmont so on a visit to Nashville, I tried Loveless. The biscuits are melt in your mouth best you will ever eat and the preserves served with them are outstanding. I prefer the blackberry but the strawberry and peach are equally good. The hashbrown casserole is to die for and everything id great here.

A friend and I were on our way to a BMW Rally and we were just about to get on the Natches Trace Pkwy and I caught the restaurant out of the corner of my eye.
First of all they provide MOTORCYCLE parking!
The food is great and the biscuits are out of this world!
ALL the waiteresses are friendly and a pleasure to look at!
Little Crystel is a sweetheart.

Believe the hype, this place is great! The biscuits are indeed the best ever, as is the homemade sausage gravy and country ham. I am a very tough critic and this is the place to go, especially for biscuits and gravy. I can't wait to go back!

Wow!! Was visiting Nashville and heard this restaurant was a "must see". The folks in the restaurant are extremely friendly, big smiles everywhere. There is a barbecue area out front and the gentleman working there is a pleasure to talk to. The biscuits really ARE the best I've ever had; I'm not usually a big biscuit eater, but I gorged myself on these. I also ordered an omelet, which was average. But don't just come here for the biscuits; it's the whole atmosphere. By the way, we just happened to be seated right next to the music group Sawyer Brown, who was dining there at the same time we were.

My first experience at the Loveless was not the greatest, but I knew its beloved reputation and had to give it a second chance. The result was complete enrichment to my life! You have to drive outside of Nashville to get to the cafe but it is so worth the drive!
The Loveless has been in service of the local community and country music legends for over 50 years, and the secret biscuit recipe has been passed on with love to each new owner. These are the best biscuits in the country my friends. They are served with the Loveless famous homemade jams or sorgum if you wish. The country ham and eggs and grits are divine and the yummist white flour sausage gravy. If you're aching to be adventurous and local, try the red eye gravy on your grits.
The Loveless has new owners once again, who lovingly restored the site with such gorgeous vintage detail. They added a seperate mail order/gift store: take home some Loveless jams, hams, coffee mugs, or vintage aprons or send them to your friends right from the site. There is also a new smokehouse where you can order smoked meats.
When the restoration was being done, theives with an ebay eye came in and stole the signed photos from the walls -- everyone you can imagine, from Minnie Pearl to Grandpa Jones to the Judds. Only Ernest Borgnine was recovered! But, wonderful folk art paintings cover the freshly painted cheerful walls now, and you will feel splendidly at home. Mary Elizabeth Richards is still working here -- she made the first batch of Loveless biscuits back in 1951 and she will keep refilling your plate with more warm ones! And your coffee cup will never be empty.
This is the classic American country breakfast.
