This is the most overpriced breakfast in the madison area. They ripped off the menu from the Original Pancake House. However, the upped the prices and decreased the quality compared to the Pancake House. I have given Pancake Cafe several tries, but now would never go back there again. If you want a really good breakfast go to the Original Pancake House!

After several visits to Pancake cafe (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), I've determined that it's not one of my favorite places and I wouldn't recommend it, if you're looking for value.

Overall, the staff is moderately courteous, but not outstanding--which is usually a reflection of poor training or management. The physical environment is nice, but not electric. There's nothing really special here. The food is ok. But given the high prices relative to food quantity and quality, it's certainly no bargain. "Biggest Ripoff" is a bit overstated. However, there are certainly other places in the area which offer better value. Out of courtesy, I won't name them here.

While I have always loved breakfast, I have never been able to find a restaurant that serves a quality breakfast until I came to the Pancake Cafe. (Before this, my usual breakfast experience was at Denny's which can leave a lot to be desired.)

I have not yet visited the Middleton location of the Pancake Cafe, but can say that the Fitchburg location boasts a degree of professionalism and friendliness that makes me want to return time and time again. The food is fantastic, the service prompt and the management extremely curtious to not only the customers, but also their staff.

I can only say that I cannot wait until there are more Pancake Cafes around... other cities around the USA are missing out!

How can two restaurants owned buy the same guy be so different? The food at both restaurants is the best in the area. The service that I have had has been great with the occasional mistake, which has always been corrected....so what’s the problem you might ask...

I had always gone with my family and friends to eat at the Pancake Cafe in Middleton and always enjoyed the experience and I still do. When the restaurant in Fitchburg opened I would visit there as well. The new location is very nice...but don't be fooled by the ambiance. Beneath the good food and attentive staff there lies “wolf in sheep’s clothing”. My family, friends and I have seen a manager intimidate and berate his employees to the breaking point. Only to discover that “this guy” is the owner. When I approached him he was arrogant and dismissive. I have been to many restaurants over the years and it is difficult to find a combination of great service, great food and a pleasant family atmosphere…I thought I had found it at the Pancake Café. I haven’t been back to the Fitchburg location since November ’04 and do not intend on returning.

I have owned and run my company of 250 employees for 15 years and have always believed that the strength of an organization is to lead by example and respect you’re most valuable asset….your customers and your employee’s. Treat them with respect or you could loose it all…

I credit the staff at the Pancake Café for rising above what is tantamount to abuse and doing their best to services their customers. This may seem petty to some but I believe that situation like this need to be addressed and hopefully corrected.

I've been to the Pancake Cafe twice, and will not go again. Both times I went, the service was horrible... once, we didn't get drinks for over half an hour (and food for another half-hour), and both times nobody ever offered me a refill on my coffee.

The food was mostly adequate, although the pancakes were nearly inedible. For breakfast, the prices were pretty high, too. If you want *good* pancakes, go to the Original Pankcake House in Monona or Middleton.

Great Place and very classy, I loved the food and the service...Very kid friendly and the whole place is non smoking!!! I loved it here and will be back again and again...They have fish fry on Friday I loved the Pancake Cafe it beats all the rest and I will be back... Do yourself a favor and go to this place!!
