We had the ultimate skillet and the tasty tacos, both very highly recommended, maybe the skillet more than the tacos. The food and service were great, we'll definitely go back.

When I first heard about Chubby's Restaurant through my good friends J-Romey and Tartar I was skeptical. I didn't think a restaurant with such a silly name would guarantee good food and a good experience. The coffee is pretty good and the waitstaff is diligent. You can tell some of the customers frequent Chubby's often. The menu had much to offer. I usually like to have a mexican breakfast like migas so I ordered the Chubby's version...MEGAS..Man, it sure was a mega meal. It wasn't what I was used to but it was pretty good. The pancakes and french toast are outtasight. They really have their sweets down. My only complaint about the restaurant would be the front door parking for the handicapped. Just about a month ago a car drove into the restaurant and boy were people scared. I think Chubby's would be top notch if they built steel barriers around the restaurant or a moat with vicious alligators so that people can't drive into the restaurant and interrupt hungry customers. Overall, I give it 2 thumbs up.

Since moving to their new E. Northwest Highway location, this restaurant has greatly improved. The service overall is very good and the food is much, much better. If you like Greek food, the baked chicken and Greek potatoes are wonderful! No more greasy spoon. This place has improved across the board.

I hosted a group at Chubby's this past Saturday morning and had been trading with John (the owner) for the past several years. Upon my arrival with my breakfast group, I was greated by a very young lady that had no idea how to handle a group of five. She gave little to no information about seating time and the restaurant was not busy at the time we were there. When I inquired about how long (after I had waited a good 10 minutes for a table) she asked again, how many was in my party. I said to her, nothing has changed, just the same 5 that have been waiting for the past 10 minutes. She then informed me that it could be a while (as I was looking a table that would seat 5). When I asked how long the third time, the relationship had gone completely in the toilet and she stated that she could not give a time, that the table she was waiting on to seat us had been there since 6:30 AM drinking coffee and they were regulars. She said sorry, you will just have to wait! Great service (NOT). I will never trade at this establishment again. This is NOT Texas friendly... I have left the owner 2 messages, and he has yet to return either call. His name is John.

This place was such a find! The food is very inexpensive and amazingly good. Only comment from my husband is that the gravy could use more sausage. So, he just orders a side of sausage, crumbles it up, and voila... sausage gravy. The portions are good. I can't stress enough that you really do get your money's worth here. There's a little bit of a wait on the weekends. But the coffee, good homestyle breakfast and value keep people happy to wait. There's also a little country store where you can buy everything from peach cobbler in a jar to homemade preserves and even greek grape leaves while you wait.
