This used to be a decent restaurant in the '70's
It no longer measures up. It is overpriced and
lacking in customers at peak hours except when
other restaurants are closed. It is overpriced
and food items at other Hollywood restaurants can
be obtained for lesser prices.

Go on the weekend sometime after 2 AM. It's like the Annual Transvestite Conference in there. The place is really about atmosphere. It's crazy!

If I were giving separate ratings for service and food, The Yukon Mining Company would get the full five eggs for service, which was fast and friendly. In fact, that speaks to the whole atmosphere at YMC---although a large restaurant, it has a very friendly, neighborhood feel. Open 24/7, it's a wee-hours hotspot for the West Hollywood clubbing crowd.

The food is totally passable---I wouldn't complain about any of it---but it's nothing to write home about either. The vegetarian omlette I had was a bit on the watery side, the cheese not quite as thoroughly melted as I'd like; the hash browns were a little clumpy; and the "fresh fruit garnish" was a thin slice of watermelon.

It was an adequate, pleasant meal. As it's close to where I live, I'd go again; I just wouldn't urge anyone to make a special trip to get there.
