Bonatt's used to be my favorite place for breakfast, but it no longer is. The service was horrible with the waitresses and cooks having an attitude which suggested we were inconveniencing them. The meltaways are smaller, they no longer had blueberry pancakes which were my husband's favorite and only had imitation syrup. You could buy the real stuff before, but apparently that was too inconvenient. The sizes of things went down but the prices went up. Time to find a new place for breakfast.

This is the BEST place on the Cape for a good, hearty breakfast. As soon as you sit down, they place a famous, complimentary Melt Away on the table. If you order a dish with fresh fruit it comes with HEAPS of ripe fresh fruit that makes the whole trip worthwhile. My absolute favorite... the Irish Hash. It's outstanding!

Plan to put your name in and wait... there's a line all summer long and I don't think they take reservations! Great food, great service. Our family goes a couple times a year and we wouldn't go anywhere else.

I used to frequent this place before current management came in and ruined a great place to eat. Thats what happens when in-experienced restaraunt owners buy thriving restaraunts.

Bonatts is a must to visit for anyone, tourists or locals. As a local, I go there once a month, and their "Melt-away" pastry that comes with every meal is heavenly. The food is always fresh and tasty, and the service is good, if a little slow. The food is filling and it doesn't leave you too hungry or too full. I must say the coffee is not very good (they use tap water, and Harwich tap water is terrible), but my standards are up around fancy urban coffeehouses. A great restaurant, that everyone should go to. One last note: If you go on a weekend, make sure to get reservations, since there is often a line out the door (especially during the summer).

if you have ever been - you have told your friends about this place. they are famous for the "melt away" that you get with every table. it is this pastry that is hard to descibe but you will love it. now for the breakfast! the serving sizes are generous, the fruit plate seems to be fresher than fresh year round. and you don't go away with that heavy stomach ach feeling. it is by far a healthy but very hardy experience. try it once and you will keep going back.
