I was visiting some friends here in Long Beach and we were looking for a cool place to eat breakfast. They have many interesting breakfast options here which was a pleasant surprise with the dinner-esque feel. Young average joe/hip crowd and some older folks. The first cup of coffee my friend ordered tasted like coffee flavored water, he said. The new cup of coffee he received was better but nothing special. The Tea section was poor. I did find one Earl Gray though; loose leaf would have of been so great. We all love the food we ordered. You may feel like every thing on the menu is priced just a dollar or so more then it could be. I really liked the place and my friends said they would return.

Simply the one of the Top 5 Breakfast Restaurants I have ever been to in the United States. There's one place in Minneapolis, MN, two places in Santa Cruz, the Lighthouse Cafe in San Pedro, and then there's the Coffee Cup Cafe. The coffee is the best, the egg dishes, from the vegetarian chorizo (which is amazingly good) to the miriad of omelettes, is just inspired. And the wait isn't THAT bad. Also most of the girls serving are nice, and helpful.
If I could change one thing: the place is LOUD. They need some sound absorbing materials in the room badly.
But the food, and the coffee is The Best.

This place rocks!!! Situated in the eclectic neighborhood of Belmont Heights, the Coffee Cup Cafe serves up great food with great attitude. Don't be scared away by the wait. Coffee is available inside and there is a great children's bookstore and a hip boutique to shop while you wait. Great omlettes, scrambles, pancakes, and breakfast spuds (get them crunchy). Veggie items are also available.
