This restaurant is no longer in Carlsbad Village. It is in San Marcos. The food was very good and service friendly.

This place has actually been out of business since 2008. The location is a Mexican food place now.

Couple of points:
1. The picture representation of the food in the carlsbad magazine is not correct.
2. The place is a dive; filthy floor, filthy tables, dirt driveway with dust waffling through the open windows.
As a point of reference: If a business owner hires people from a foreign country to prepare your meal, you should expect the same quality you would find in Tijuana Mexico. If a business owner thinks more about keeping their payroll low than the customers they are trying to attract, they lower the standard in which the customer suffers.
This was my first visit to this place of business. I was hoping to find a decent meal, regardless of the price...My meal was miserable, the service was a cut above fast food, worse yet was having to listen to the babbling of the spanish speaking help as they curse (in spanish) some customer or relative.
Note to business owner: If you expect to stay in business, get better help and train them. I don't speak spanish and I don't appreciate hearing mexicans cussing while I'm trying to eat.

Would I ever go there again?

Not even if they paid me.

This is one of the few places I absolutely have to frequent each time I return to Southern California. They serve some of the best food in Carlsbad, and they offer some of the friendliest service. I love Mariah's!
