These original pancake houses are all over, so you can just Google the locations. The one we went to was actually in Kearny Mesa and was decent, clean and well managed. I was impressed with how delicately light the plain pancakes were, the syrup and entree plates were nicely warmed up. Service was pretty good, but I say that with reservations, as this was a weekday, not a weekend. The omelette was huge and nicely done. The coffee was weak, my only complaint. I have no other complaints, and would return, even though I really have a hard time giving a thumbs-up to chain restaurants.

The pancakes were very good, except for the sourdough pancakes, which were very gummy. Coffee was not very good. Portions were generous. You could dawdle a little over your meal, but there is a line waiting. I have eaten at two of these (this one and the one in Orange, CA) and quality/flavor/service was similar.

Ok, there is a wait. YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!! I actually thought about giving a bad rating so no one else will find this gem of a restaurant in Poway. North County needs more places that you can count on for consistency and good food at a fair price. Try the omelettes. They are fluffy and delicious. Pancakes golden and light, with lots of different varieties to choose from. They only use top rated oils and butters here. And boy what a difference that makes. Lastly, great coffee and good service. That's all you really need for a good overall experience. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

They make THE BEST Dutch pancake! The wait can be long on the weekends, but the food is worth the wait! The service is outstanding - and the wait staff all have great attitudes! Many have been there a long time - what does that say? We love to eat there and recommend it for breakfast any day of the week!

If you are hungry then you better go somewhere else. I went to the pancake house for THE PANCAKES!
They were the smallest pancakes i have ever gotten at any restaurant. They should be embarrassed to serve them.
Today i went to another restaurant and had pancakes - they were so big that i could only eat half of them and i was STUFFED.
If i were you - I would not go here

This place always has a wait time, But for a very good reason, IT'S THE BEST!!!!! Try the Apple Pancake, German Pancake, Fresh squeezed juices, fresh made Apple Syrup, big fluffly Omlets, or just about anything. It truely is the best. I'm just bummed that when my family and I moved to Boise ID, we couldn't take the Original Pancake House with us. The only drawback is that it is a little pricey, but I would glady pay for the excellent food, service, and atmosphere.
