Mama's is the shit. Big, fluffy omelettes; addictive home fries; fresh, organic ingredients; cool stuff all over the walls ... and it is in Oaktown, bitches! Anyone who doesn't give this place five stars is high on crack.

As a veggie who can't eat dairy, this place rocks! I always find several options and they're really cool about substitutions! It's ALWAYS crowded, so expect a wait, but they're happy to let you have a cup of coffee while you wait -- you can even take it outside while you wait in the sun, wind, or rain! Really, just YUMMY!

They get busy so you have to ask for coffee, which is good. They don't get good marking since they serve only milk, not half-half. They do however have excellent grits, raisin toast and SPAM...whoever serves Spam for breakfast is well worth the visit.

so good. the food really can't be beat and the wait is not an issue on weekdays. they serve veggie links, which is a major plus.

Funky, hipster atmosphere with long lines outside on weekends. Family-friendly; eclectic colorful decor; multiple smaller rooms: restaurant seems to be built into a combo of a couple older Oakland storefronts. Great food: I love the scrambles, and don't miss the specials too.
