It has been 3-4 months since last visit - introduced two new associates to breakfast @ Junipers - I'll bet that they will be back. Got another person hooked on the "loaded grits" - the bowl was so full he had to take off some of the cheese, onions and bacon so he could mix it up before eating. At so many other restaurants the grits are over cooked but at Junipers it's like each order is a fresh batch or maybe that's because so many people get them. One guy had the ham and cheese omelet - it was so much he had to take 50% of it with him. My normal breakfast is eggs over medium - turkey sausage (I try and eat this when ever it's on a menu - but theirs is the most favorable), their own made bread is great toasted and finally the loaded grits. I'll try and get back sooner next time - this is always a treat.
PS: Note to Mr. Breakfast - you need to add another pricing category - between average and pricey - a fair price for want you get.

The scrambled eggs with country ham, green onions and cheese were delicious! The coffee was really good--smooth, flavorful. My husband tasted mine and ordered himself a cup. I did have to ask for a refill but in the waiter's defense he was very busy. The strawberry spreadable fruit and sorghum were yummy. My only let-down were the home fries. They were too greasy for me. Next time I'll order grits. Yes, I will go back.

Ate here recently with 2 friends. All were very happy with the food. Particular compliments for the omelettes. Near Memphis St. Univ. and seems popular with a variety of folks.

Ate here in April 2010 because of the reviews on this website and I have to say they were right.
The food was awesome!
Our server seemed to be pretty busy so we didn't get the best service, but the wait for a table was nearly an hour because they had to make room for my mother's wheelchair. The place was packed. Tables are close together so her power wheelchair posed a problem as well as the bathroom. The bathrooms are not equipped for wheelchairs at all. I do not recommend going if you have a wheelchair bound person. We would have eaten there every day we were in town if it wasn't for that.
The food was every bit as good as everyone said it was.

Update!!!
I took 2 business associates this morning to Brother Juniper – how did they like it. Let me say it this way increase the size of the restaurant!
The loaded cheese grits are magnificent. The fresh baked bread big attraction. No need to order a side meat when you get the sausage & gravy over biscuits.
The waffles were light, tasty and quite filling.
My favorite place for breakfast, will continue to join the local crowd.

Probably the best omelet I have had in a restaurant. Their homefries are out of this world. You can't beat the service. As other posters have said, it is MORE than worth the wait.

Their reputation as the best breakfast in Memphis is correct. Quaint atmosphere. Fun and healthy menu, from traditional dishes to Tofu. Good coffee, plus Espresso options. Good service with a smile. Worth the drive from downtown. The wait could be long on a busy weekend and parking is a bit of a challenge, but worth it.

All the other reviewers got it right. Great breakfast. Near the Memphis University campus. In door and outdoor breakfast. Friendly, quick and delicious breakfasts.
Lots of Brother Juniper products for sale including shirts, mugs and jams. Don't miss this one when you are in Memphis.

Excellent handcrafted food making it worth the trip. Go there to dine - definitely not a speed operation. Superb omlette. Owners involved in the operation. Communication is an issue - waitress took my order for bisquit with my meal, then, when she brought toast, told me they had been out of bisquits for an hour. Meantime owner tells an obvious regular that they were out of bisquits.

Breakfast is a meal that I enjoy anytime. So I’m always looking for a new place to try and see if I can add it to my regular places. Well you cannot judge a restaurant after one visit, but I will tell you this, I’ll be back! Service was responsive my coffee mug never was empty, the food was served as ordered, hot and tasty. The home fries were cooked through out but were not dried out, the slight taste of garlic added a wonderful twist of favor. I let you know about my return visit, which will be soon.

Brother Juniper's is the best breakfast you'll ever eat! The funny thing is that I was born in Memphis but moved to a nearby community when I was seven. I learned of Brother Juniper's on "$40-a-Day" much to my happiness. Now my husband and I make the journey about once or twice a month - it's worth the drive, let me tell you! The food is great. I love their biscuits, home fries and bacon. They are one of the very few places that will actually cook my bacon extra crispy when I ask for it. My husband loves one of their casserole type dishes with sausage, home fries, mushrooms, onions, peppers and cheese which also comes with toast. If you come to Memphis do yourself a favor and visit Brother Juniper's!!!

San Diego Omellette, fresh bread made on site. Socially aware place.
A little wait, but well worth it.
